Hi I took a test yesterday after being 6 days late. Had first consultation to investigate after 13/14 months TTC so was a welcomed surprise :) but now I feel on edge when I sneeze or cough just Incase it dislodges lol is it normal to feel this paranoid. I’m getting some cramps and my stomach feels like it’s being pulled. When do you start to relax or does that even happen.

Early pregnancy can be very crampy, much like period pain, put your feet up take it easy and wishing you the best of luck x

Oh my gosh OP I hear you loud and clear. I'm 5 weeks too. Before I found out I did three insane fitness tests (police), was smoking, and had two McDonalds in one day Blush
I'm also worried about moving around too much, what if it comes unstuck!? Blush
I've done some reading into it and research shows physical activity, to a degree, is good for the baby and you, and they are hardy little things so I wouldn't worry too much.
Congratulations!

Congratulations!

I found out at 5 days late(Wednesday) , I was convinced that my body was playing tricks on me because I'd had cramps for a few days and was just waiting for the inevitable.

Very surprised as my husband is on medication which meant our chances were slim to none. I called my go and my booking in appointment with the midwife is at 9 weeks which seems really late.

MrsMarrio · 23/10/2020 09:40

@user1471508896 booking appointment at 9 weeks is usual. In my last pregnancy I didn’t have it until 11 weeks.

Thanks, that's reassuring I'd assumed it would be earlier and some other threads had people having them at 7-8.

I think because of the added complication of his medication and some additional risks to the baby in terms of development and viability getting to 9 weeks without being checked worries me.

Timetotry123 · 23/10/2020 09:57

Try not to worry(says me lol) all will be fine Smile

You can go to the gp from whenever you find out. If it’s your first pregnancy then by default drs usually treat you like everything will go plain sailing unless you have an underlying health condition. And in nearly all cases you get a beautiful bonnie baby in 9 months time.
With my first pregnancy I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks, got told it was a one off, I got pregnant for a second immediately after and unfortunately lost her at 22 weeks due to an infection getting in the uterus. We had a 12 month break then on my daughter’s anniversary I found out I was pregnant again. Now I have a very precious 16 week old son.
So when you can rest then do, pregnancy is very tiring and takes it’s toll and expectant mothers can get their anxiety going into overdrive. I was diagnosed with ptsd while pregnant due to the previous trauma.
I urge any woman that anything that doesn’t seem right then go get checked out. You can also pay privately for a viability scan from 7 weeks if nothing is physically wrong but you want that little bit of reassurance by seeing that little heartbeat. Good luck ladies, pregnancy can be amazing but scary all at the same time xx
