Changing bags!

Just started looking and how do you decide?

Also where did you buy them from if not online? I can't see many places that do them! Checked John Lewis but they only had a couple.

Also any recommendations appreciated :)

I prefer the changing rucksack. Amazon have loads. Tonnes of compartments and space. Separate but for nappies, bottles if needed, food, wet clothes etc. Clip onto pushchair evenly.

I found the traditional one arm strap changing bags sore on my back if carrying for a while.

I started this in the summer some useful food for thought

You don't need to buy a special changing bag, just a backpack is fine. I bought one from a French brand, Naf Naf, but I don't like it at all because I never can find anything in it.

The only thing I would advice is to buy one that has many pockets inside or outside so you can divide your things in different categories (and avoid my bag issue) and choose one made of cotton or other material that is easy washable. You can just buy a foldable travel changing mat and put it in any bag you will use as changing bag btw.

If, like me, you're a 'chuck some stuff in a bag and go' kinda person then a bog standard rucksack will do. If you like to organise things into different compartments and like to be prepared for everything, get a rucksack especially made for new mums. Either way, get a rucksack and not a one shoulder one

I got mine from Boots, and I bet Amazon have got some. Aldi may have some left over from their baby & toddler event if you check the website.
Or try ebay for a secondhand bargain?

Asda we’re doing some Disney ones that are lovely. I got a cosatto one to match my pram and it’s brilliant

I also recommend a back pack! With my DD I got one off Amazon. I got it in plain black so OH was happy carrying it around too :)

Another vote for a lightweight rucksack. It helps hugely to be able to carry it on both shoulders then you’re hands free

Anything of a decent size and a few pockets would be ideal

We started with a fancy baby bag and found my DH’s camping rucksack way way better!

The only thing you need To add to an ordinary bag would be a changing mat

If you are me, you refuse to buy in to the flashy bags and buy a decent changing backpack from Amazon for £20.

Then you head to Bicester Village with a friend for the day, end up in Cath Kidston where you spot the most gorgeous blue Winnie the Pooh changing bag.

You first refuse to buy it, saying its expensive and you've already got one.

After leaving the store you realise you can't stop thinking about it, so you buy the darn bag.

If you are anything like me, the bag will also make you extremely happy every time you see it because its damn adorable.

Sooo...

I love my pacapod rucksack

RWK29 · 22/10/2020 18:12

@H8624 TK Maxx usually have a good few in their baby sections if you’re wanting somewhere to actually go and look at them 😊 bigger Boots stores stock a decent range too.
I’ve gone for the Skiphop Forma backpack and have it packed ready to go as baby’s hospital bag. Really decent size!

I got a rucksack from Amazon for about £20 and its perfect. Loads of room and compartments.

Honestly a rucksack is the best thing so you have both hands free for carrying little one (or in my case two)
