Having to accept that my maternity clothes no longer fit me at 30 weeks -eek! Wanting to buy some new stuff that will also be good for when the baby is here. Would love recommendations please - main focus is very definitely comfort over style. Any maternity leggings that don't dig in and long tops/jumpers that cover the expanding bum?! Not got on well with maternity jeans.
Also - how on earth do people know what size bra to buy for nursing? Have people tended to buy a cup size up or wait and see? Are there any comfy options?
Thanks!

Love leggings. I’m nearly 34 weeks and all my maternity stuff is fine though, are you buying the right size?

beepbeepsheep · 14/10/2020 18:57

If you're planning to breastfeed it's worth baring in mind that you'll need easy access when you're buying clothes.

I bought very little to be fair - I have maternity trousers and the stretchy bit is okay on bump, but the rest of the material is not stretchy and now when I sit down the bit below the band digs into my lower bump. My regular pyjamas now do the same. Maybe I did buy too small... They were okay til now.
What leggings do you have @peachypetite? Do you have over or under bump?

Thanks for the tip @beepbeepsheep.
I was thinking maybe long shirts with a b-shirt underneath? Can't find ones long enough though (I am tall tbf).

Typo- should have said I'm 35 + 2, not 30 weeks.

I have love leggings, over bump, come up high, are thick and soooo comfy. I live in them.

Also have leggings from love leggings too! They are really thick which is good :) I am 37 weeks atm and just ordered some nursing bras, I bought one cup size up from what I am now.
For my daughter when I was breastfeeding I would always wear a low neck line vest top under my t-shirt /jumper... That way you can just pull up your top and pull down the vest top for easy access!

HAha-thought you were just saying that you love leggings-thanks, I’ll check those out!

I've bought 3 pairs of love leggings & have worn through them all at 33 weeks 🙊

wishing3 · 14/10/2020 19:56

I’m sure they’ve done you proud @lucyFTM!
I’ve just ordered a pair to try. Now looking for long jumpers/shirts and maternity pjs.

For breastfeeding afterwards, try the Facebook group Can I Breastfeed In It. A lot of them are non nursing clothes that people have found work well for feeding, can be way cheaper than buying all nursing clothes and means you have a bit more option with style etc.

I found h&m camis, ASOS maternity leggings and anything long and stretchy from Primark were often my go to during pregnancy.

Thanks @drumst1ck-will check out that group.

Don't go crazy buying nursing bras. Get a pack of something stretchy like these and once your supply has settled down get nicer ones. Boob or bust has a section about measuring for nursing bras

Thanks @porridgeface
I did buy some cheepo Amazon ones a few weeks ago but for some reason they make my boobs madly itch. Bizarre. I’ve washed them and still the same. 🤷‍♀️
