I have a lot of assignments to get done and I know some injections give sore arm is that the case with this one ? Also does it make you feel a bit run down ?

@kellykelly76 had mine done and straight back to work afterwards, arm was a little sore for 2 days but not to the point where typing was challenging as long as my laptop was on a table.

MichelleOR84 · 14/10/2020 16:25

Sore arm but it didn’t stop me from doing anything .

My GP told me that it isn’t a live vaccine so there are no symptoms so you’ll feel fine!!

SprogletsMum · 14/10/2020 16:26

I had a sore arm after mine but it was more things touching it, so lying on it in bed, that was sore rather than being unable to use it.

Autumnleaves200 · 14/10/2020 16:26

I felt fine after mine, went straight back to work

ForeverBubblegum · 14/10/2020 16:35

If you haven't had one before it's fine, if you have a second within 10 years (if you get pregnant again) then the second one is quite stinging, but still probably won't stop you been able to work.

FolkSongSweet · 14/10/2020 16:36

It really hurt my arm both times, but not until the day after. Also felt pretty run down but was able to work fine.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 14/10/2020 16:38

I was fine directly afterwards aside from a slightly sore but useable arm. However I felt really unwell and run down the next day, to the extent that I left work mid afternoon. I was better by the next day.

sarahc336 · 14/10/2020 17:43

Yes it gives a sore arm so laying on it in bed can hurt but it's not so sore as to stop you typing etc xx

SadAndPregnant · 14/10/2020 17:45

I just struggled with it in bed, not actually doing anything with it. You should be fine :)

Turtleturtle81 · 14/10/2020 18:33

My arm felt a bit aches the next day. It was nothing that stopped me from being able to do anything though.

I found the other way round. I had five in four years and the first one stung and my arm hurt for days but subsequent ones didn’t even leave me with a bruised feeling.
wishing3 · 14/10/2020 18:54

I had mine a few weeks ago and wouldn't have known - no soreness at all.

peachypetite · 14/10/2020 18:55

My arm was achey for two days and I felt like a zombie

futuredreams · 14/10/2020 19:41

Yeh gotta agree with above. I was zonked for days after getting it. But then it might have been the usual for how many weeks pregnant I was then and it was a coincidence just. And my arm really hurt to touch like a bee sting/ raised and hot but no weakness so didn't stop me doing anything except sleeping on that side.

CoalCraft · 14/10/2020 22:27

Tiny bit of pain if I pressed directly against the site (or lay on that side) that lasted maybe two days. No fatigue.

Hathats · 15/10/2020 00:30

If you've had Whopping Cough do you need the vaccination? I had it 5 years ago.

sarahc336 · 15/10/2020 06:05

@Hathats yes you have it with each pregnancy to give the new baby anti bodies as it's for them not you xx

midnightstar66 · 15/10/2020 06:14

Yes, they are essentially vaccinating the baby via you so they have anti bodies to last until they can be vaccinated themselves. That's why it needs done at a certain stage of pregnancy, to have that result.

20viona · 15/10/2020 06:25

It's literally a tiny injection you'll be fine to type etc.

penguin423 · 15/10/2020 09:03

Mine was slightly achy if I lay on it in bed for a couple of days but otherwise totally fine and it was so quick I barely noticed they'd done it!

Sheera1 · 15/10/2020 09:58

It is quite a major jag as they put in a tetanus and I want to say polio as well (though thought that was one under the tongue). They make you sit for a bit after to check you are ok. I felt a little woozy but was fine to work. My arm did ache for 2 days. More like a pulled muscle or if someone had given you a dead arm. If you raise your arm out to the side it feels like a muscle pull. Shouldn't stop you working.

pinkbalconyrailing · 15/10/2020 10:04

not whooping cough vaccine, but I had a few vaccines this year via a 'catch up' exercise and I got a sore arm, but nothing as bad as to
stop me doing anything.
if it does hurt you can take paracetamol.
