I've been having pain all down my left side for a few weeks, especially my bum cheek, today it's been horrendous, especially in my left shoulder to the point where I have been sick from the pain, baby is moving lots and I don't feel genuinely poorly just sick from the pain, any ideas? I'm 26 weeks.

Contact your midwife?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 11/10/2020 18:10

Maybe the baby is lying on a nerve? Worth speaking to your MW first thing tomorrow.

Hannahp3 · 11/10/2020 18:27

Yeah I was going to contact her tomorrow anyway, was just seeing if anyone had experienced same as last two pregnancies were a breeze with no problems whole way through! Thanks

Can you drink ice cold water to see if the baby will move away from whatever nerve he is on?

You might need some physio to get your spine off the nerves. It might not be baby, it could be that pregnancy has misaligned your spine and that’s causing the problem. Midwife should be able to refer you to a obstetric physio.

I have a similar problem, not just when pregnant, but pregnancy makes it a whole load worse for me.

But definitely speak to midwife! I am no expert Smile

Sounds like sciatica. I get it every pregnancy and it is dreadful. Extremely difficult to treat as it is nerve pain. Sitting on a hot bottle occasionally helped and quite a bit of physio.

Yep, sounds just like sciatica. I've self referred to the physio for mine (through the hospital website), I have daily exercises and also have been seeing a chiropractor, but I'm tempted by an osteopath. It's helped a little but not standing or sitting for too long is key, and the chiropractic tape on my back has been a game changer
