Hi Ladies,

I wanted to put it out there to see if anyone else has been experiencing this? Baby boy did start to have some sort of pattern, but as of late it has changed, if anything he has increased movement starting from 5am and pretty much stopping at 9pm, kicking and wriggling throughout the day. I can't seem to establish a proper pattern, anyone else???

Hi OP
I'm 30+5 & only really just starting to see a proper pattern. From what I have seen on here a lot women have said that if your before 28 weeks you wont have a necessarily have a proper pattern. From 31 weeks your baby will have an established pattern as this is when they start to sleep more so it's more noticeable when they are awake. Obviously if you are concerned just call your midwife and pop in to get monitored.

Hi !! Oh that is good to hear, I have been feeling so conscious of it as everyone keeps asking me, I am 25 +4 and was starting to feel like he would never get into a routine. Thank you for responding to me :)

Dear OP, I think 25 weeks is way too early for a pattern to be properly established. I am 28 weeks and still not sure what his pattern is. He moves and wriggles throughout the day but there is no clear pattern as yet. I am not too worried as long as he is moving. There are still days when he is quieter than usual but then picks up the pace at night time. It is all very random and confusing. I am sure I will understand his movements more by week 30.

Good to know thank you, I think most of my friends have just worried me (unintentionally) As they were all asking me what his pattern was and that they had a pattern around this time.

Thank you for coming back to me, I agree, my boy is the same, last three days he has been completely on one, but the day before that a few kicks here and there.

I am 36 weeks on my second DD, and I have never been able to figure out their 'patterns'. I just pay attention to how often I feel them, so for mine, 3 hours of quiet would put me on alert and I might pay more attention for an hour or so, and then have a cold drink and a lie down to get them moving, but thats it. I couldnt figure out what times they moved throughout the day or any other pattern.

Good to know, one of the days I felt he was really quiet I did exactly that, I find lying on my side makes him wake up, once I did this he was squirming away. At the moment it seems to be all throughout the day and very active after lunch but no specific timings. Thank you for coming back to me

I was never able to figure out a pattern either. Spoke to midwife about it at 38 weeks and she said that some people just don't! My daughter is now 3 weeks old and currently sleeping on me.
