Hello mumsnetters.

I'm quite new around here and tend to just browse through different threads so thought it was about it was time I got a got a bit more involved. Smile

I have a nearly 8 month old baby boy who is 1 in February and due DC 2 in March next year. He is such a happy little boy, always smiling and giggling. Chats away to himself or to us all the time. He's a perfect first baby ❤️

We always wanted two but didn't expect them to be this close together. I'm so happy that they will grow up together and be so similar in age.

Does anyone else have children a year or so apart? Am I hoping that they will be nicer to each other being so close together or am I in for a rough 18 or so years? I'm fully aware I'm in for a very rough 2-3 years while they are both babies/toddlers 🙈

Any else due in March? Smile

If you got to the bottom. Thank you for reading I didn't intend the post to be that long haha.

My sisters 10 months between them... Never got on for even one second.

My older two are around 1.5 years apart and occasionally argue/ wind each other up now they are older, but were best mates when they were small. My OH has a year gap with his sibling and they get on very well also. We’re expecting again in March and he’d love another soon after so they’re close in age!

My daughter is expecting her 3rd baby 11 months after her 2nd. Her first baby was 2 weeks early and her 2nd baby was 3 weeks early. She's been told it's likely she'll be early again.

My cousin had a 10 month gap due to her second baby being premature. They were brilliant companions when small but do not have contact now despite living 3 doors apart.

Positive for good a relationship just rocky in the middle then. Rocky right when it would be best for them to get along 😂 When in March are you due?

I'm expecting them to fight. I have an older sister and my DH has a sister and we also fought with our siblings. We both have a 3 or so year gap though. Hoping the closeness in age will help with activities to keep them both happy as they grow up causing less arguments 😂

Wow so she will have all her children close then? Or is her first older? 😊

Mine are 12 months apart.

Hard work at first but haven't regretted it for a second. They are really lovely kind funny boys and get on really well

14 and 15 now, almost 15 and 16.

samandpoppysmummy · 06/10/2020 22:18

My DS and DD are 17 months apart (one school year). I have loved having them so close together, I think it's the perfect age gap. They have always got on well and are now 15 and 13.

17 months between ours (now 11 & 12). They get along very well and are very protective of each other. When they had toddler beds the younger one used to climb in to bed with her brother or vice versa. They have completely different interests however, and I was sick of the sight of the steriliser, it was going for years!!

I'm 62 and my sister is 61 - we say we're twins for a fortnight! Your babies may be close when young, they might find new ground when older (as we did). We both have happy memories as small children though, the age gap meant nothing to us growing up.
