12 weeks cervix suddenly risen

I'm really hoping someone can help as so far a midwife I have spoken to can't and I'm struggling to get through to my early pregnancy unit.

I'm taking progesterone pessaries so have been inserting these and consequently feeling the position of my cervix for past 6 weeks. It has always been low enough that I can easily feel it and even tuck the pessary behind it, it protrudes into vagina that much. This morning it had suddenly changed position to be so high I cannot feel it with my finger. I am 12 - 12.5 weeks and have a retroverted uterus ( that was still in its retroverted position at the last scan last week).

Can anyone shed any light, I'm very concerned something is wrong.

Thank you

Your cervix should be up and well out of the way during pregnancy so I would say this is normal, also with having a tilted uterus they tend to right theirselves around 12 weeks so it could all be linked to that going the right way- I have a tilted uterus too which by my 12 week scan had sorted itself out :)

Thanks Ellie. It seems it might be less typical my cervix has stayed so low for so long and taken until 12.5 weeks to rise. I'm at my maternity unit later for an unrelated blood test, if I manage to get any opinions I'll definitely share here as I do find the forum helpful for these kind of 'what's going on' moments!

Interesting, I'm still doing pessaries and cervix is so low. I googled it the other day and saw it's meant to be really high, maybe mine will switch too? Let us know what they say

Just to say at my unrelated blood test the midwife could only say that the cervix changes position frequently. So not much light shed and mine seems to have dropped really low again today.
I do sometimes find myself thinking, in my first experience of pregnancy a bit later in life, that it seems we really know much less than I'd expect about something women have been doing for quite a long time :)
