Hello. I wonder if anyone can give me any advice. I am only 8 weeks pregnant but the nausea in the last couple of weeks has been awful, I can’t even manage to get through the day without a nap. I can just about manage to walk my dogs each morning.
I used to be so active, running 2/3 times a week and going to the gym. I’m having to lie to my friends about why I can’t run with them and I feel awful about it. I used to love being out an about with my dogs but getting up to walk them in the morning feel alike such a chore.
Please tell me this phase of nausea and fatigue passes?? 😔

Sometimes. Sometimes not. Usually you start to feel less tired around 12-16 weeks, but it bites again later because you can’t get comfortable in bed. Sickness can go away, but others will have sickness throughout of and labour. Every pg is different, all 3 of mine were.
The tiredness does usually ease though. Another month or so.

@CMAYF11
I suffered from hyperemesis for 11 weeks, sick from dawn to dusk. Headaches, sleepless nights, weight loss, constantly tearful, trapped in my own home as I couldn't venture far.
You feel like it's never ending and you'll never be the same. Then you'll reach a week (mine was week 16), and I'll of a sudden you're your old self again......and then you feel a kick...... x
Trimester two is SO much much better x

u sound like its hitting you hard :( hope u start to feel better soon.Im at a similar stage to you, 8 weeks tomorrow. i havent done too badly so far, altho pretty tired and been having the odd afternoon nap with pretty lazy weekends. im having to drag myself out for a run as dont feel motivated but the times i have, ive actually generally felt better for it and when had felt nauseous i found running made it go away? obv know that wont work for everyone and if u cant even drag yourself out the house, i wouldnt blame u! im doing the same tho and basically not running with people now as too slow and finding i have to walk up hills puffing, i didnt think id find it so hard so early! also struggling with ummm...gut issues when running at the mo, so prefer to be alone!!!
can anyone help u with your doggies or could u get a dog walker in for just a bit whilst u feel rubbish? or could they manage without an early morn walk and just wait til a bit later? (mine have breakfast and go back to bed, have to drag them out haha). really hope u feel better soon x

@leftitlate37 thank you. I’m 37 too (guess you are by your name) I think I’m just really shocked at how much it’s affected me. I had these big ideas that I’d be able to keep running and I wasn’t going to let being pregnant stop me. I haven’t eaten anything “health” in weeks.
I can’t really complain about the nausea as I know some people have it so much worse.

I’m the exact same! I’ll be 16 weeks on Tuesday so I’m really praying that it will all end soon as I don’t think I could cope with this much longer. I’ve been in bed since July, like you I usually have a routine of getting up in the morning and taking the dog a long walk. That hasn’t happened and I feel like I’ve neglected her, thankfully my OH is able to take her out then look after me all day. I was hospitalised at 7weeks with HG. Weeks 7-10 were utterly horrendous but I seem to be over the worst of it. I have good days, but they’re just ok. I’m still not able to get up and about and just lay on the sofa or in bed all day. Then I have bad days were I’m sick all day and feel rotten. A lot of people seem to get rid of it in the 2nd trimester so I’m going it goes away for me, however, my cousin was really bad and it lasted the whole 9 months for her.

yes i am! dont be hard on yourself, we literally can't predict how it's going to affect us. Im totally the same though hoping to be one of these people who will fingers crossed have no probs and run until the day before you have a baby (like u sometimes hear!!), but i know i have not much control over some stuff. As the OPs say, hopefully you'll start to feel better in 2nd trimester though. I'd say do what u fancy doing, and if you dont fancy exercising then don't force it. As for eating healthily, hmmmm sometimes its jsut easier to eat what u actually fancy or what's easy?! we can all only do our best eh! Is this your 1st pregnancy?

I felt the same from about 6 weeks to 10/11 weeks. Went from running to barely being able to drag myself out for walk, napped every opportunity I got and completely went off fruit and veg and instead just ate junk (mcdonalds, pot noodles etc) I'm 20 weeks now and feel much better, back to a proper diet and regular exercise. It felt like it would go on forever but hasn't. Hope it eases for you soon 🙂

I found it started getting better by 12 weeks and disappeared by 16 weeks but while it’s ongoing it feels like it’s never ending. Before becoming pregnant I was at the gym 3-4 times a week and then just didn’t have the energy but I went back around 14 weeks and my old energy started coming back

JoanApple · 04/10/2020 18:00

I remember being too exhausted to climb the stairs. Yes, it will pass.

CMAYF11 · 04/10/2020 18:12

So pleased to hear it passes. Guess I better get used to naps. Luckily I’m working from home so I can hide it a bit, sweatpants are my uniform at the moment.
It’s my first pregnancy so completely shocked at how hard it’s hit me. Not sure if the lack of caffeine is a factor too. I used the have a couple of coffees each day, along with tea and Diet Coke. Can’t even stomach decaf coffee at the moment.

@CMAYF11 I'm the same at 9 weeks tomorrow. I'm 36 and this is my first pregnancy that's got this far so I have nothing to compare it to! I've felt like death since 6 weeks. Haven't been to the gym since and feel like a sack of lard, not helped by the fact I can only stomach bread, cereal and biscuits.

Every woman at my gym who's had a baby has been glowing and continuing their regular workouts right up to going into labour and I feel so far from that right now!
