Nausea suddenly eased 8w5d- worried

Hi everyone

I've had really bad nausea from about 5.5 weeks, although early in the 7th week seemed to be the worst (I think I got better at managing it after that). Over the past few days I've had everything from a really bad day where I was in bed most of the time, to just a background level of unpleasant nausea that I could still work through.

I'm worried because yesterday evening I felt fine for the first time since this started! I still feel pretty ok this morning. My boobs still hurt but I don't feel as deathly tired either.

Some things I've said say it can be totally normal to start having good days around now but others say it shouldn't ease till nearer the end of the first trimester. Any experiences from others would really help my anxiety now.xx

I don't know if this will help but I found things did settle down at various points so there may not be anything to worry about.

I had terrible anxiety all throughout my pregnancy and it really stopped me being able to enjoy it, so just keep an eye on how you're feeling Flowers

Yes I'm 15 weeks now and had the same thing. Actually had hyperemesis but I had a few days where it eased and I had the same thing with ds1. It's perfectly normal, your nausea will probably make a return any day now. The joys!

Thanks both😃 I have been really anxious throughout as ice had 2 early miscarriages before and this is the furthest I've got in pregnancy so don't know what to expect!

Symptoms are expected to vary throughout early pregnancy- totally normal for them to come and go! Also nausea doesnt come everyone- apparently 1/3 pregnant ladies dont really get it!

I had this at 8 weeks. Was so sick I could barely move, then it suddenly stopped one day, I went on a ferry the next day and didn’t even feel slightly sick. I was petrified so went for a scan a week later and all was fine. I’m 11 weeks now and it comes back for a few days and then goes again.

Enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can. Take photos and videos, keep a diary. You'll wish you had!

Normal, my pregnancy symptoms started early at less than 4 weeks, then stopped completely at about week 8-9. Currently 34 weeks and have new third trimester symptoms now! But it’s common for symptoms in the first trimester to stop as the placenta takes over.

BuffaloCauliflower · 03/10/2020 13:42

And yes, I had no sickness whatsoever.

Hello. I had two miscarriages and with this one (now at 24 weeks) my sickness dropped off just after 8 weeks and I totally panicked. Spent days crying and eventually booked an early scan.

Went for a scan, instant heartbeat and was actually nearly a week ahead of where I thought I was.

Couple of days later the sickness was back!

Semele5069 · 03/10/2020 15:20

Thanks again all. The sickness has totally kicked in this afternoon so I'm feeling relieved but rubbish!

I may just have been better rested due to not having to get up for work this morning so it kicked in later in the day than usual.

Quick update for anyone who sees this post in future- I had a scan today at 8w6d and all is looking good!

Glad all is well. The anxiety of symptom checking can be really worrisome and I'm guilty of it too. Try to relax these next few weeks as each day can be different from the last. All the best

Fantastic news OP.

Enjoy it all, eat well and look after yourself.
