Just that really.. if you've had a c section before what did you wear for the days/weeks (months?) After?

Everywhere I read seems to say leggings but its not something I own much of so now wondering whether its worth investing in couple of bits for post section to make life that bit comfier.

Yes you need to invest in leggings! Get high waist everything aswell. Pants etc. Two years on and I still only wear high waisted as clothes sitting along the scar is uncomfortable. Not sore but just not comfy at all.

Good luck Flowers

I lived in tracksuit bottoms or trousers with elasticated waist. Wasn't a leggings wearer back then!

Knickers at least 2 sizes bigger than your normal size very high waisted once’s that come up over the incision.
I wore maternity leggings for ages. In the first 6 weeks I pretty much only went out to family’s houses just for a change of scenery so wore my maternity leggings as it didn’t matter. After that I discovered m&s jeggings they are high waisted and very comfortable and actually look like jeans. I’m still wearing those daily now 2 years on

Huge knickers! The ones that go over your bellybutton, as so to avoid the scar.
I was lucky I had a summer baby so I wore lots of dresses- I suppose tights and dresses may work.

I don't think it specifically needs to be leggings. Just think about soft fabric and things where the waistband is high enough to not interfere with your scar. For me, tracksuit bottoms were the easiest. And maternity jeans, for longer than I probably should have postpartum.

In the first few days very big pants, but otherwise is avoid tailored trousers/skirts and jeans but otherwise wear whatever you want.

I wore some leggings, but also dresses and skirts, basically my normal wardrobe, from coming home.

BubbleBoy12 · 01/10/2020 08:13

I was in dresses with tights, I didn't go near my jeans or jeggings for some weeks.

During the day mostly pjs and for the few days after it was night dresses.

Leggings are great, if you're wearing tights id size up just for comfort. I didn't wear tights until about ten days post op and my scar healed well before I wore them.

Huge knickers, I sent DH for knickers the day after. I'm a 10/12 but asked for size 16 big belly warmers and they were great especially for the big maternity pads

Nanna knickers, yoga pants, high-waisted or empire-line things. Nothing that rubs along your bikini line. Honestly, I’ve had two and it wasn’t all that bad. I found the firm-fitting, wide-banded lycra yoga (ugly, nappy) pants a godsend initially.

Sweatpants and pj's. Maternity leggings and maternity jeans.

lockdownpregnancy · 01/10/2020 11:47

I'm just over a week post section and I'm with the other pp's, BIG pants. Ones that go past your belly button. You don't want any seam near your stitches. Keep wearing tour maternity leggings too as your belly won't shrink for a while so you need something to go over that and again no seam near your stitches.
Baggier and more high waisted the better!
