How much should babies move at 22 weeks pregnant? ๐Ÿ˜Š

At 22 weeks they wonโ€™t be in a set pattern yet, so I wouldnโ€™t fret too much about exactly how much there is / should be. If you arenโ€™t feeling regular movement by 24 weeks speak to your midwife Smile

@Lantern156 thanks for responding ๐Ÿ˜Š Some days, baby moves like crazy! Other days I barely feel anything and some days I feel nothing at all!

Any tips on getting them moving?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

It varies a lot from baby to baby. Have you noticed a change op? If you think movements have reduced don't be afraid to ring the number you've been given. Midwives much prefer you to call if you need to, no worry is silly. Xxx

@Mysa74 thanks for responding ๐Ÿ˜Š

Baby is usually more wriggly in the afternoon/evening but it varies each day. Some days I feel loads of movement, other days barely anything. Today is a 'barely anything' day but I have felt some movement. Its my first pregnancy so unsure what to expect ๐Ÿ˜Š

At 22 weeks some women won't have felt anything yet, some get strong feelings all day every day.

Before 28 weeks, they are small enough to tuck away behind your public bone so you can have quiet days where you feel v little and days when they dance the tango. Totally normal.

I had intermittent movements at 22 weeks. I think itโ€™s because itโ€™s still easy for the baby to change position and be kicking towards your back (for example) which you feel less. Now at 24 weeks the kicks are getting much more regular for me. I find a cold drink gets him/her going.

But definitely speak to your midwife if youโ€™re worried.

Sounds like baby is just finding its pattern. At 22 weeks it has plenty of space so won't always be bouncing off the walls so to speak. There's a lovely window to enjoy before it gets uncomfortable but even then it's an amazing time, especially when they do get bigger and you can see feet and elbows poking out. I loved being able too gently push one of the sticky out bits and have her push back,..

The sonographer suggested cold fizzy drinks and hula dancing to get my LG to move so they could measure her during my scans, she was camera shy Grin

Thankyou for all of your suggestions ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm not worrying yet because I have felt her move slightly. I was just more concerned about what's normal ๐Ÿ˜Š

Just had a cup of cold fresh orange juice, a handful of skittles and now working my way through a doughnut. Perks of being pregnant ey?! ๐Ÿ˜‚

There wonโ€™t be a set pattern until 28 weeks. There will still be days where you feel less at the moment. Any worries contact a midwife though. Cold/fizzy drinks and sugary foods can help with movements but midwives no longer recommend it if your not feeling movements. Mine said anyone would move if you put cold water on them, doesnโ€™t mean they are ok.
