Recurrent miscarriage question

Let’s say someone has had 3 Miscarriages and then finally has a baby with help from the recurrent miscarriage unit.

If she then gets pregnant with a second child, would she be able to go back to the recurrent miscarriage unit for the same treatment to help this second child survive. Or would she need to have another 3 miscarriage before they will help her again?

I am being referred for my 3 miscarriages and just wanted to understand from people who have been through this, what the situation is with a future second pregnancy.

It depends on what help you had from the recurrent miscarriage clinic? If it was progesterone or clexane support or some other drug that you need to sustain a pregnancy then yes you would still ring them when you next had a BFP. If it was just a reassurance scan they were giving you or your miscarriages were unexplained then probably not? I've had 5 miscarriages and my recurrent miscarriage clinic refused to see me due to covid. I was only seen in the end because I've also had 2 ruptured ectopics. I find them pretty useless to be honest

It's a postcode lottery I'm afraid and you have to be your own advocate.
I had five miscarriages and then my rainbow DD with no help from the RMC I was under as they had given up on me.
I'd read that frequent scans can help when all the tests come back clear, so I took myself to a walk in EPU every two weeks when I was pregnant the sixth time. No idea if that's what helped, but I had my baby.
Now pregnant again, 17 weeks. Due to COVID, RMC were useless again, so I took myself to the same EPU as before for frequent scans. Also because the PRISM study found that progesterone helps women who are bleeding in their current pregnancies if they've had three or more losses, I got my GP to prescribe them for me.
Now the RMC will see me to scan me for reassurance.
So it really depends where you are.
Good luck and take them the research! x
