Blood Sugar Levels

So I have been asked to monitor my blood sugar levels for a week as at my 32 week growth scan little ones tummy was measuring in the 95th percentile. I had my gtt done at 28 weeks and passed.
My fasting readings have been around 4.8/4.9 for the past two days. Both days I have had breakfast of eggs, vegetables, ham or bacon and my 1 hour after breakfast readings have been in the 4.1-4.9 range. Should I be worried about these readings or are they ok? My readings later in the day go up to between 5.1 and 6.3 as I allow myself to have slightly more carbs then.
I know I’m meant to be under 7.8 but is in the 4 range or having the readings the same as fasting levels something to worry about?

No, if anything it's good!

I believe that’s good, there is little sugar or carbs in your breakfast so I’m not surprised it Doesn’t change much. I’m having to do the same (37 weeks) as my pee samples always contain glucose (I do seem to have a fizzy drink Before I go to every midwife appointment 🤭) but my gtt at 32 weeks showed no issues and I had a growth scan as well and baby and fluid is all looking within normal range, so hopefully they will see from the results that it just spikes when I have something particularly sugary.

My fasting readings have been consistently 4.2-4.4, and after breakfast (coco pops mostly) it goes up to about 5.3. I had sultana bran One morning and it went up to 9.1! I have had a few high readings but mostly after I’ve had a fizzy drink or a bar of chocolate with lunch. Otherwise my other readings sit around 6-7.

Thanks everyone for the peace of mind. I have been trying so hard to eat really healthily throughout the whole pregnancy as I have a high bmi, have only put on 8lbs so far, have been really aware of what I am eating over the past week. Have only had one dodgy reading so far of 8.9 All the rest have been fine and I hope they stay that way.

This has really helped me. I had GTT last week at 28wks and first reading was 4.7 and they said fine but reading after glucose drink was 9.3 which they say is abnormal so have to now monitor bloods.

I have been getting mainly high 4s/low5s before breakfast then around high 5s after meals but 6s after evening meals but they are usually more carb meals - pasta, stir fry etc We git takeaway on sat and I had shawarma wrap with salad in, chips and garlic sauce. Far too big a portion so didn’t eat it all but got lower reading than after eating a stir fry!!

I usually have porridge and banana fir breakfast but had 2 slices of half and half toast with lemon curd and a Nescafé latte sat morn n level rise to 8.3 so that worried me.

My baby showing as smaller tho on 10th centile and fluid and placenta/cord normal but I’ve been told if I have diabetes they will induce early and if baby growth slows again they’ll induce which scares me as don’t want her to be really small. I’m fed up of taking blood samples but will see what DR says next week at 30wks

Alphabetti I know what you mean about being fed up of taking blood samples, but it’s for the best reason to make sure our little ones are ok.
I would probably guess it is a mixture of the bread and lemon curd that made your blood sugar levels
rise. I have read on the gestational diabetes website that carbs always need to be paired with protein/fat in order to help stabilise sugars.

I really don’t want to be induced too early, have already been told that because of my blood pressure I can’t go over 40 weeks but also don’t want my baby to be massive either.
