Hi I got my bfp a week a go. Was trying for 3 months with my partner. Had a scare the other day with bleeding and cramping but everything okay thankfully! Still early days though and first pregnancy so super worried.i work as a care assistant and work is stressing me out and I was meant to be moving to a 2 bed from my one bed flat this year. I'm currently signed off sick because of work, and they're being horrible about it already. I know I need to put myself first. My mum said I need to take it easy and wait until baby is born if all goes well! What do you think? Is moving and working during pregnancy too much?

I moved house at 29 weeks pregnant and had been working full time up until then, the stress of moving and trying to keep up with work ended up sending me into a meltdown and GP signed me off work for 2 weeks with stress. I went back to work after that and it was tough but just the way it is unfortunately. Going on maternity leave in 2 weeks and cannot wait.

You’ve still got a long time to go until maternity leave though and to be honest you will probably feel a lot better by 2nd trimester. First is tough and I could barely cope with work then too, but don’t be afraid to take time off sick if needed, pregnancy related sickness is recorded differently to normal sickness. Hope you feel better soon xx

I moved house during the first trimester of my current pregnancy, which is also when I was working from home, full-time, with a toddler and no childcare, which was incredibly stressful. I wouldn't recommend it... but it wasn't the worst thing, either. I think if it's what you want to do it'll be fine (not easy, but ok) but if you don't want to do it then that is also totally legitimate, fine and you should give yourself permission to do whatever feels best to you.

What I would say is that I would a million times over rather move house while pregnant than with a newborn, though it does depend on both pregnancy and baby, there are other women who would disagree. But I wouldn't assume that it'll all be easier when baby is here.

Your first pregnancy is full of worries and unknowns and it’s a steep learning curve. None of us knows how it will go, and the first trimester can be especially grim, with chronic exhaustion, sickness or nausea, light headedness etc etc.

But I couldn’t imagine not working through it - somehow just sitting around waiting for the whole 9 months would put more pressure on the pregnancy! I agree with others who have said that moving once the baby is here would be much worse than just doing it now.

So I would be inclined to get back to work, AND move! Aim high. Accept that you will have days where you don’t achieve much, and get your partner and family to help. But go for it I say:)

I’m on my second pregnancy, run a business and have a 3yo. It’s completely mental at times but where there’s a will there’s a way. I love it :)

All around the world, pregnant mums are making the best life they can for their future family by working and aiming high... so unless you’re medically advised by a doc that you can’t, I would crack on now, earn money, get a better place, make the life you want for you. Wishing you so much luck and a great pregnancy xx

P.s it’s true the second trimester is really a lot better than the first!

I'm 34 weeks and I'm moving house in a couple of weeks ? 😬 I'm prob a little crazy but it's just how things have turned out.

Sorry forgot to mention I'm Also working full time although last week I began working from home due to some pregnancy issues.

I'm 24 weeks and we moved last week! And I work full time. We also have a couple of months of renovation to do before baby comes. It's been ok so far, even with having SPD. Just get as much help as you can!

I also moved house at 34 weeks pregnant and worked full time up til 37! Totally doable.

I would say moving house whilst pregnant is an awful lot easier than moving with a baby and I have done both! So if you need to move I would get it done earlier rather than later. Work wise, everyone is different and how you are treated at work will make a massive difference. If you enjoy your job it’s easy to say keep working but if it’s affecting your stress levels then you need to make sure you’re looking after yourself.
