Newborn in pram rather than 'newborn carrycot'

Hi.
So this is probably a silly query lol! I have bought the joie double pram (1 year old and 5 weeks until newborn arrives). I've two boys and with boy I was religious about using the typical newborn carry cot part that came with your pram bundle, it just looked comfier, cosier etc. But this is the first baby will be in a proper pram from birth, I know these are recommended from birth and really it's fine, but do we all think the same? Should I get an insert for newborn?🤔 I think it's the straps that makes babies seem too small for them. (Whereas carrycots have the snuggly mattress). We worry about the smallest things lol!

Anyone any experiences? Bare in mine it's a proper pram, baby's part is the back part, can lie flat, sit up etc, has the hood that goes over etc.

Dd went straight in a pram. Occasionally clicked the car seat on when I bought the adapters for it.

She had reflux so the option to sit her up slightly was great.

@catnoir1 did you add any inserts/head supports in to make it more 'comfy'? Or just stick with tilt/flat ? Xx

I used a small foam support when she was about 4 months when she was tilted higher up.

I used a small head support when she was born.
