I am not sure if it just depends on different trusts policies but my community midwife weighed me at 36 weeks without telling me why and never mentioned anything. I read a lot of people saying that’s odd she weigh you. Last time I was weighed was booking in appointment. I have no issues? Should I stop overthinking

Hey @xxHappymama2020xx I’ve just had my 36 week appointment yesterday and the midwife weighed me. I hadn’t been weighed since my booking appointment either and I wasn’t expecting it.

She read my weight out loud and said that’s fine. I couldn’t believe the weight though I was like wow well that’s ruined my day haha

I wouldn’t worry about it, they would tell you if there was an issue 😊

I was weighed a couple of times during the pregnancy the first time because I asked, i was worried about not gaining weight. The second time was when my pregnancy sickness returned in the third trimester and the third time was because the computer said to do so. The midwife didn't know why it was asking to do so it was either my 36 or 38 week check up that this happened.

It's to calculate your BMI as some options might be dependent on it, such as midwife led birth units etc. It also may impact on medication levels and should you have an emergency c section

I was weighed regularly from 32 weeks on. It was part of the checks for signs of pregnancy related diabetes.
