Is this progression line normal with brown spotting?

I have had quite a lot of brown spotting today which has worried me. I had none yesterday but did have some the day before yesterday.

Pictures attached (you may need to click on the photo to see all four):

First photo is 11dpo
Second is 12dpo
Third is 13dpo
Fourth was taken just now at 4weeks 1 day

Is this progression normal and is there enough difference between the third and fourth photo?

I am a nervous wreck and just want these first few weeks over with until I can hear a heartbeat. DH days that I was the same with our son 5 years ago worrying about spotting but I don't remember spotting with him... maybe I did and DH can remember it more because I wouldn't stop panicking...

It could just be implantation bleeding. Maybe book an early scan if your worried, midwives don’t really listen to the heartbeat until at least 16 weeks so you’d have your scan before that.

Line progression looks good to me Flowers

@Oneandabean oh, that's strange... with my first, we heard the heartbeat at our dating scan which was about 8/9 weeks. I know seeing the baby love on the screen and hearing the heartbeat was the biggest relief ever so I can't wait for then xx

Dating scans are usually done around 12 weeks, if too early they’re not accurate, and babies heartbeat isn’t strong enough to be picked up on Doppler until around 16 weeks all they’ll pick up at 8/9 weeks is yours

@Oneandabean I can guarantee that I heard my first norms heartbeat around 9-10 weeks at my dating scan Smile. I can also confirm that my dating scan was very accurate. Dates told me that I was due 13th July 2016 and dating scan changed that to 15th July 2016. I went into labour the night time of 16th July 2016 and he was born early hours of 17th July 2016. Right on time Smile.

The following confirms that this is possible and completely normal:

With all this growth, you'll probably be able to hear your baby’s heartbeat for the first time around week 9 or week 10 of pregnancy, though it can vary a bit. It will be about 170 beats per minutes by this time, a rate that will slow from here on out. Your doctor or midwife will place a handheld ultrasound device called a Doppler on your belly to amplify the sound.

All pregnant women in England are offered an ultrasound scan at around 8 to 14 weeks of pregnancy. This is called the dating scan. It's used to see how far along in your pregnancy you are and check your baby's development.

(I had mine around 9-10 weeks which is the right time as mentioned above from NHS website)

I am super excited to go to my dating scan for my second within the next 2 months Smilexx

I think what @Oneandabean probably also meant was it's not standard procedure to listen to the heartbeat until 16 weeks with the midwife. Where I am I didn't hear my babies heart beat until 16 weeks with my first at a normal midwife appointment, this second time round was the same however I now have a Doppler done at my scans too (25 weeks with twins) which they have done twice now but this wasn't before 16 weeks and they just recorded (and confirmed to me) that the feral heart beat could be seen on the scan. Maybe it differs in different areas. In my experience it's not what is done before hand. My booking appointment was about 9 weeks ish for both pregnancies and dating scan at just over 12 weeks for my first and 10+6 but I had to return for another scan with this pregnancy to be able to complete the measurements for screening.
Line progression looks fine to me. Try not to drive yourself mad by constant testing as I'm sure you know you'll make yourself crazy worrying when there's likely no need. I had to tell myself that it doesn't matter how many tests I do, if something is going to happen it will happen regardless.

*fetal not feral 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Oneandabean · 17/09/2020 09:20

Also be aware that listening to the heartbeat doesn’t seem to be a thing at the moment, I’m 21 weeks and still haven’t heard it. Hoping to hear it at 24 week appointment. They just check it during the scan

@emma911030 my doctor has specifically asked me to keep testing until next week because of the brown spotting Hmm although I am feeling much more relaxed now. X
