I'm not sure if I've posted in the right place but I need some advice.

I'm a FTM, I'm currently 34+1. I'm just wondering what contraception people use after birth? I don't want anything long term as I believe we will try for baby no2 within 2 years.

I have been on the depo prior to falling pregnant for almost 8 years, this worked the best for me but I don't think it's the best option. Due to how long it will take for everything to get back to normal.

In the past I've also been on the implant (Worst thing ever!) Microgynon (okay for a while then Gave me severe mood swings). Condoms as standard.

What has everyone found works best for them?
Are there other options (Of course there are 🤔) that I haven't considered that has worked for others?

It depends a bit on whether you plan to breastfeed, as I hear that hormonal methods (e.g. pill) can interfere with milk supply, especially in the early days.

Personally my plan is condom for the first six months or so, then back on the pill. Logynon worked very well for me for many years. It's a variable dose one, which might help with mood swings and other side effects. This is unless we feel open to number 2 straight away, which we might!

If you didn't get on with microgynon you could try a progesterone only pill. The depo is progesterone I think so you would probably be fine on that.
