37+3 FTM...am I showing signs of going in to labour?

I’m a FTM so this is all very new to me. I’m 37+3 (from our original calculation from when I ovulated we would be 38 weeks today but they pushed us back 4 days at the 12 week scan). I’m wondering if I’m showing signs of going in to labour soon? I could be overthinking this but I need some reassurance!

I spent most of yesterday in bed falling asleep and waking up due to exhaustion. Last night the baby was VERY active. I’ve never felt anything like it and they are already quite an active baby at the best of times. It was quite intense and overwhelming. Today I’ve had some pressure down there that has stopped me in my tracks and for the last hour I have had the same intense activity again. On top of this I can’t stop going to the toilet the last 2 days (not just peeing!).

Am I overthinking this or could this be early signs of my body and the baby getting ready?

Not sure if it’s a sign that you’re going into labour but any change in fetal movement pattern including increased movements should be reported to your midwife lovely.

@thetangleteaser thank you for replying! I don’t think it’s anything bad as such as they have been normal out with these two times but you’re right just to be on the safe side. I have my midwife appointment at 9am tomorrow so I will speak to her then. Thank you!

Absolutely always best to be safe than sorry☺️ Just keep an eye and if they become increased again definitely get yourself seen in triage!

It could be. Or things are just starting to get prepared and you have weeks go yet.

Good luck with it all and as others have said if your unsure about any movements or anything get checked out. Hospitals and midwives would always rather have a pregnant person come in to get checked out and everything be okay rather than them sitting at home worrying.

Thanks for all the advice! Ive got an appointment for an ECG (I’m sure that’s what they called it) just to make sure bump is ok. Thanks again Flowers
