Continuous stomach cramps at 39 weeks

Hey! Can anyone tell me if its normal to have continuous stomach cramps at 39 weeks?

I have a continuous pain across the bottom of my tummy today. I can't decide whether it feels like period pain or like the kind of cramps you'd get with a stomach bug. I dont have a massively upset stomach, although I did have loose stools this morning and feel a bit sick.

Does this all sound normal?

How are you doing now?

@Brenna24, it seems to have eased off. The cramp is there but not as bad. So I don't think it's the start of anything 🤷‍♀️

Good luck when it does start. You were saying earlier that you weren't ready for labour. My DD arrived at 34 weeks. I was less than 12 hours from the first stabby pain in my cervix to her being born, which was a shock. I had no warnings labour might come on early (although I had had a dodgy tummy that morning) and I was expecting a long labour and a late baby as that is normal in our family. I actually enjoyed my labour though. They aren't all bad. It was like a really intense workout in the gym, I was out of breath and tired by then end but I was never in agony. Not all labours are awful. I had gas and air for the last 2 hours but probably could have coped fine without it too. I hope that your labour is equally easy.

@Duesept20 My cramps (after 3 days) finally have turned into labour!!!

It definitely could be the start for you - keep an eye out for your mucus plug and bloody show! My mucus plug came and then 3 days of cramps and now labour!

Good luck OP!
