Wrong scan notes?!

Anyone got any advice on what to do? Wrong scan notes happened to anyone else?... my 20 week scan notes say I've got a low back placenta, the notes were never explained to me and the scan felt rushed and was quickly out the door...at my 25 week appointment a midwife pointed out that on my notes I have a low placenta, she never done anything about it. Then at my 28 week appointment I asked questions about the low placenta and asked why have I not been booked in for an extra scan at 32 weeks as I had done some research into it, she then requested a 32 week scan to see if the placenta has moved up, 2 weeks later I still had not got a scan letter through so I rang up the hospital. They were very blunt with me and said the request has been rejected and to ring my midwife and she will explain why. So I immediately rang my midwife who knew nothing about it so had to ring me back once she had rang to ask why... apparently the scan notes are wrong and they had looked back at the scan pictures and measurements and my placenta is not low. I had a private scan at 28 weeks and asked if my placenta is still low and they said yes, I've told my midwife this and they will not take word of mouth and as its not written on any notes they will not believe me! I'm so worried that it is low and nothing will be done which could lead to a complicated birth!

Since I got this news yesterday it's really hit me emotionally and I can't think straight, its stressing me out 😭 I've not got a midwife appointment until the end of the month, I can't afford to pay for another private scan!

If this was me I would have them done for negligence and tell them if anything happens during labour that you will sue them as you have had a second opinion from a professional. That should get them off their asses. Sorry you're going through this x

What negligence?

A private scan isn't necessarily a second opinion from a professional. That's like saying you got investment advice from the bank cashier at the local branch of Natwest and therefore you are going to disbelieve what your accountant is telling you.

If this was me I would talk to my GP, get another private scan and take the records to the midwife or suddenly develop some symptoms that require an urgent scan.

I would talk to my GP first, explain how much worry it was causing and as if there is anything that can be done.

Does the report and pictures from your private scan show demonstrate the low placenta? Did you offer copies of them to your midwife to add to your notes, or for review by the radiologists? I imagine they would be more able to take them into account than your verbal account.
