Peeing at 27 weeks, how do people leave the house?

I'm 27 weeks and an quite slight. The last two weeks I've really noticed that the baby can shift and lie in an awkward position and it feels really heavy on my bladder. I drink well. I have started to use a belly band for support when I go out.

Unfortunately my pee test came back with small traces of blood in it which I was surprised by as it is very clear so I'm on antibiotics.

Thing is they've told me to keep an eye out for weeing more, back pain and lower stomach aches, but said I would likely get that all anyway as standard as part of pregnancy and it's nothing to worry about. I'm stumped. Is there too much? What is too much?

I'm only 27 weeks. I have no idea how I'll make it another 13. I pee about one every hour there abouts.

I'm due to travel to Cornwall in a few weeks which is a 4 hour journey. The anxiety is taking over. It's almost not worth going. I dread leaving the house now and will only go somewhere I'd there are toilets. Hopefully this will get better after the antibiotics but I'm so sad others don't appear to have this, or are you out there and hiding at home also? ☺️ any tips? x

Is it as bad when you're sitting? You might find a car journey ok? I can easily go 3 hours if sat but as soon as I stand up I have to go!!! (I'm 28 weeks and feel your pain!)

I want to go and visit my parents (though this may be scuppered due to a local lockdown being announced) but they live 2 hours away. The toilet thing is the main reason I'm worried about going, I cant do a car journey longer than an hour without needing to pee. I'm not hugely keen on service stations at the moment due to Covid and there are only a couple of them on the journey. I can go nearly 45 minutes without coming across one. It's hard, I dont know how others do it!

I have a lot of Braxton Hicks and can go every 10 minutes some hours 😬, can usually make an hour if I'm doing something/driving but when I'm at home and the toilet is there it seems I go way too often. Walking is about max half an hour before I'm desperate. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow but it has been like this for a long time (sorry). I just don't drink hardly anything in the morning if I'm due to go anywhere so I can last longer.

I couldn't go an hour, I'd plan every trip around toilets. So plan your stops and I would wear a pad everywhere incase if any little leakages. If you look as pregnant as possible other women will be nice if you need to cut a que sometimes to!! I was lucky with this!! Getting comfy sat in the car might also help! Hopefully it gets better for you soon!!! Congratulations!

I recently went from Essex to Devon and the return journey took 7 hours!! We stopped every 2 to 1,5 hours. I know it's bad but I just didn't drink anything until I knew we would be stopping soon and I could wee! Hopefully your travel companions will understand haha

Thank you so much much ladies. It puts my mind at ease there's nothing wrong with 'me' specifically. I am better sat down @GlennRheeismyfavourite but then stand up and the weight makes me need a wee. We popped to the garden centre today and I stood up, concentrated the whole way to the loo and pee'd a disappointing amount for how desperate I was feeling 🤣

It's hard to know what is normal or not when they tell you to look out for these things. I didn't hear any of my friends ever talk about this. They were all walking miles up hills just before their due dates. My back is in tatters if I walk too long round the supermarket.

Currently waking up 3 times a night for a visit to my favourite porcelain tinkle hole 🤣 thank you so much again ladies for helping me to put my mind at ease xx

Don't worry, I swear some days I'm going at least 30 times. Urine dips always ok! And I wake up 3-4 times in the night. I always had a small bladder though so it doesn't surprise me.

Disappointedkoala · 12/09/2020 18:31

I'm having this - I must have been for a tiny wee every 45 minutes today! Baby is low down so clearly pressing on bladder. If you've got a long journey I'd stick to just plain water - things like juice, squash and hot drinks always make me wee more, I swear a cup of tea equals 4 wees now. Make sure you are doing your pelvic floor exercises too.

Alychloe · 12/09/2020 18:35

I’ve been like this since about week 25! If I went out I’d instantly need a wee, it was like baby didn’t like me going out and would instantly put pressure on me. I find wearing loose fitting clothes does help, so avoid any leggings, maternity jeans or anything that sits tight on bump! I’m 35 weeks now and she still likes to move onto my bladder as soon as I stand up or want to go for a walk.

My family live 2 hours away and I’ve been seeing them once a month - for car journeys I always wear a dress and take a large plastic cup haha - didn’t want to be stopping at services because of COVID.

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 12/09/2020 19:40

3 wees a night is my average too - it's exhausting!!!!

alphabetti · 12/09/2020 21:44

I’m 27weeks and am constantly needing toilet. I am up 3-5 times a night and try to limit what I drink on an evening as I end up exhausted from getting up so many times. It seems tho like a sip of water equals whole bladder!! I Find myself going to toilet throughout the day about every 2hrs. I don’t like using public toilets for the Covid risk but just keep anti bac wipes in my bag so wipe seat and flush handle before using. I’ve had days of feeling very nauseous but in last 3mth my main symptom is needing toilet and being exhausted from it but can’t complain as would rather that than full on sickness
