Baby still not head down at 35weeks!

So baby's head still isn't down! I bought a birthing ball a couple of days ago that I will now religiously bounce on!

Did anyway else have babies that weren't head down at this point but then turned in time for birth?

My first two children weren't head down till a few days before I gave birth . I wouldn't worry about it :)

DS1 turned in early labour. But he did turn.Grin

Neither of my DC were head down when I went in for induction

DC1 even turned sideways whilst in labour, despite the midwife saying to the contrary (I insisted she examine me and then confirmed I was right)

Don't worry, baby knows which way the exit is!

Have a look at spinning babies website - some positioning exercises you can try. Both my babies turned at 34-35 weeks, and there’s still time :)

There is evidence for moxibustion (an acupunture technique) helping babies to turn. It's most effective if started around 34 weeks.

Justtickingboxes · 10/09/2020 18:03

Yes, this happened to me. NHS midwives gave me exercises to turn baby and they worked as she turned at 37 weeks. During labour, we found that baby had got cord round her neck but this was sorted out during labour, so no harm done and had a natural birth.

BigRedBoat · 10/09/2020 18:51

Both of mine did this, I didn't notice them flipping either which you'd think you would at that stage! Hope you get the birth you want.

My first turned at 36 weeks and second right before I went into labour.
One tip my midwife and yoga teacher gave to assist baby turning head down is not to simply bounce on the ball- this could reinforce baby to stay in current position. Instead, roll around making a figure of 8 pattern with your hips- this should be explained better on the spinning babies website.

My first did this. At about 38 weeks I spent a couple of evenings in front if the tv in a kind of 'on all 4s' position but with my forehead on the floor and my bum in the air. Did the trick and I definitely felt when she turned!

I'm 33 weeks and trying exercises to get her head down.
I'm struggling to know when I'll know she's head down because I also have an anterior placenta?!

Whereland · 10/09/2020 20:27

Only way you'll know for sure is when they check/scan you!

AlviesMam · 10/09/2020 20:52

@Whereland true! GrinGrin
