34 weeks and cramping like crazy...

They're semi painful, like period cramps, coming pretty regularly but not getting anymore intense. They spread to my back and thighs but don't ease off too much in my back just the front.

I know no one on here can tell me if it's labour or not but for those who've been through it does this sound like the starting of it? Or do I just need to suck it up because this is my life for the next 6ish weeks. (if it carries on through the evening I'll call the assessment unit but as its mild I figured I'd ask for experiences first)

Can you not just ask your midwife?

BlueCookieMonster · 07/09/2020 17:18

Honestly, I’d pop up to triage to check you’re not quietly labouring.

I just had to come on to tell you, that I totally misread your thread title and thought you were 'camping' like crazy at 34 weeks.
I was very impressed! Grin

Hope you're ok op, could they be braxton hicks?

SqidgeBum · 07/09/2020 17:46

I have been having similar on and off for the past 6 weeks (I am 32 weeks). They usually last about an hour, don't get any more intense, and then stop. I have been monitoring them, but once baby is moving, I am not losing my waters, and they dont get worse, I ignore them. I figure they are just practice rounds, although I am not sure they are Braxton hicks as they are painful. Mine are only very mild, like a 2 on a pain scale.

I highly doubt its labour starting but if you are concerned at all right the triage line. They know more than me

Drink a glass of water and have a rest. If they're braxton hicks then they will probably stop.
If they keep going after a big drink and a rest then they could be contractions

BeHappyAndSmile · 07/09/2020 19:49

I had mentioned it to the midwife at my last appointment and she said it was probably nothing of concern and only to worry if waters went etc. Just thought I'd see if anyone had similar to distract myself a bit and see if they'd stop being so regular haha. Thanks for your replies and I'm glad it's not just me!

And definitely not camping @allfalldown47! Didn't even do that when not pregnant Wink

Are you feeling any better now op?

sarahc336 · 07/09/2020 20:41

It could be a slow start to early labour, monitor it to see if it falls into any kind of pattern, ie very 10 mins or so. My labour started slowly like this and kind of crept up slowly over 2 days xx
