Bump measuring over a week ahead

I had my bump measured at 26+1 and they said it measured 27. I had it again today at 27+5 and it measures 29! But when I had a scan at 26+3 the baby was measuring 26+5 so pretty much on point. Could I just have a big bump maybe? Bit worried I’m having a massive baby 😂 midwife did say it might be because I am tall. Hoping the growth levels out a bit as it’s over the 97th percentile according to the chart!

With my first pregnancy I was always measuring 3 weeks ahead and my DS was born at 37 weeks at 8lbs. He would have been a big baby if I had gone to my due date or over .

I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant and again measuring 3 weeks ahead . This time they gave me a growth scan and baby is measuring exactly on track 🤷‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I was told I was having a big baby the whole way through my pregnancy from both bump measurements and growth scans. He ended up a very average 7lb 12oz at 40+2.

Has your midwife shown any concern? If her only comment was that he/she is tall then I wouldn’t worry. She would refer you if there were concerns

No concern, she said she was happy and it was a good size. Just a bit alarming to look at the grow chart and to see it above the top line! Maybe it’ll taper off a bit, or I could just have a bit more padding in there.

I measured 2 weeks ahead all through my last pregnancy and she came out late at 7 pound 10 and this time I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead and my growth scan puts the baby on the 50th percentile so your hump measurement will just be how you carry a baby and if you have further babies I'd expect to be measuring even bigger like I am 😂😂 x

Bump measurements are a bit hit and miss. I'm petite and measured on the 10th percentile the whole way through, she was born on the 60th percentile. Growth scans also have a large error with them but are better than the fundal measurements.

My bump is too large and I've been referred for a growth scan! My midwife said if the baby is as big as the bump suggests, she thinks I will struggle with natural labour.
The growth scan put him 1 week ahead but his head two weeks!! Which is gonna be the hard part haha. No word yet about whether or not it affects anything for the birth.

2cm either side is considered normal

Thanks for your comments, that all makes sense :) at the moment midwife says she is happy with the size so hopefully baby is not overly massive haha
