Can't breathe!

Hi everyone - just wondering if anyone has law out there is struggling to breathe? I am 25 weeks and normally when I'm upright and walking around I'm fine and can breathe properly. I often get out of breath just doing minor things but I can breathe during a moderate walk, for example. I have recently started to have problems breathing when lying down, especially at night. Even sitting up in bed is a bit of a struggle. I can only get relief from standing up and taking deep breaths. Does anyone else have this? Is it normal?

Make sure you’re lying on your side not on your back, left side is recommended. Don’t lie on your back. Also definitely ring midwife or GP and get it checked.

Get your iron levels checked.

You shouldn’t be sleeping on your back at 25 weeks- it’s too much! On your side..?

Speak to your midwife. I had similar issues in my last pregnancy and it turned out my iron levels were rock bottom. I started to fee much better when I was being treated for it.

Please get it checked and lie on your side in the meantime.

You need to see your GP op.

I find myself short of breath recently when laying down (in front of TV I sleep on my side) and going up stairs and things but I’m almost 35 weeks, and it’s only come in like this in the last 2 weeks or so I’d say. I’m going to mention it to my midwife but I think a lot of it is to do with the baby pressing on my rib cage possibly. Not entirely sure. Hope you’re feeling ok - defo ask you’re midwife as well at your next appointment
