Resuable Nappys

Hi there !

I was wondering if there is anyone that uses reusable nappys that can help me out.

Theres are quite a few brands out there , due to how expensive it will I have got one nappy for different brand nappys to try out on baby when they are here.

We have Little lambs , Bambino Mio & Littles and Bloomz.

I figured I will need roughly 30 nappys ( does that sounds right ?)

What I have noticed is the price for littles and bloomz nappys are significantly cheaper then the other two brands has anyone had any experience with either of the other brands ?

Any top tips?

Thank you

The nappy lady has a form which you can fill out and she will come back and advise. You could always try and see if there is a local nappy bank

We use cloth! It's great

There are many brands and it's hard to know which are best. I recommend seeing if there is a nappy library by you, I got a kit of 30 ish nappies of all brands to try then after 4 weeks gave it all back and had a voucher to help buy my own stash.

We use mostly little and bloomz pockets with bamboo inserts, the little lamb triple layer bamboo are great and thinner then the little and bloomz ones.
For night time we use bamboo little lamb nappies and a wrap. As LO got older we needed to add a hemp booster the the night time nappy.

Good luck with it all.

I love our cloth nappies, but don't spend all your money on one brand. During lockdown I got a whole system, now looking back they probably aren't the best as they take a long time to dry for us (I won't name the brand as they are on the whole good nappies and would still recommend them). Definitely have a look at starter packs, tots bots and bambino have good range as do little lamb. Also check out cheeky wipes for your baby wipes

We’ve used reusable nappies exclusively from 7 months and hope to use with second baby. There’s so much info about reusables so it can be overwhelming to start with.

We use baba and boo pretty much exclusively in the day now, then either little lamb bamboo fitted or Ellas house bumhuggers for night.

I’ve tried bambino mio and we still have a few for emergencies but even boosted they weren’t great for our LO and we much prefer poppers. She can’t undo them and we find they provide a better fit. We also used a handful of Littles and Bloomz to start with but never used their inserts and have always used baba and boo bamboo boosters. They do do the job but we have sold these now.

You’ll find what works for you when you start. However, Definitely agree with the nappy lady comment. She’ll give you plenty of advice based on your own needs, and suggest how many based on what your planned wash routine.

Thank you haven't heard of baba and boo I'll have a browse now , it really is over whelming with all the different types, I've read that quite a few people use little and bloomz but get the inserts from little lambs , there's no library near me but will message the nappy lady

I haven't tried any of them out yet but am following this eagerly...
Used disposables with DS1 but feeling more confident this time (32 weeks pg) to try cloth.

I've bought 2 lots of bundles/ kits from Facebook cloth nappy groups for a couple of reasons- predominantly the cost of 2nd hand is miniscule compared to buying new.

Also thinking logically that if I get them in a bundle already, the previous mum has done all the work for me in terms of selection/ fitting /what works etc.
So far both ladies were lovely, really helpful with practical tips on the individual nappies/ boosters etc.
They both said to contact them after the baby is born with any questions or queries too which I'm sure I will!
