Hello,

FTM due baby very soon. Purchased a full-size cot bed which ill have next to the bed when baby gets here as I've got enough room next to the bed to fit a cot and so didn't see the point in purchasing a small co-sleeper like the Chicco next to me or tutti bambini as I know they only last about 6 months if that as baby will grow out of it quickly to then have to buy a full size cot soon after anyway. I have however seen quite a few stories about reflux and I know that lots of the newborn next to me co-sleepers have the titling option which apparently is really helpful if baby has reflux.

Is this true? Are they really that helpful with reflux? if its worth it then I will buy it for this reason if it makes a big difference? is reflux very common?

Thanks in advance for any help! x

I had a baby with reflux and a tilting cot. I don't think it made any difference at all except to make me feel like I had tried something else. If it is an issue for you you can tilt your cot by putting 2 bricks under the legs. The only think that helped my daughter with her reflux was medication and if I have another baby with the condition I would be at the Dr's straight away refusing to leave until I got it!

Bricks under the legs of the bed. You used to be able to buy special foot lifter things.

Reflux is shit, only thing that helped, as pp said, was medication. You will hopefully be OK as it doesn't affect all (many?) babies

Yep just use books/bricks whatever under the bed, works fine

For what it’s worth we found the nect2me excellent for the first 4-5 months, especially if you’re breastfeeding at night it’s not far to reach. Got one second hand fairly cheaply x

My DD had dreadful reflux and vomiting (she has disabilities that mean all her muscles are very weak).
I bought a wedgehog which is a triangle shaped bit of foam which elevated her in the cot a bit and that helped a lot.
Good luck OP
