I've had a problem with the upper part of my left leg since around 16 weeks (now 25+1). It just feels numb but then painful if I'm stood for long and it has got worse as the weeks have gone on. I honestly feel like I don't know it's there and have walked into the table a couple of times as a result!

In the last couple of weeks, this has also been accompanied by tenderness and itching. It doesn't feel unbearable, just sore, a bit like sunburn.

I spoke to the midwife regarding this and she told me to speak to the GP because it was out of her remit. I spoke to the GP and went to see him - he did a thorough examination and said it was most likely a trapped nerve, as I've been experiencing some back pain too. I am at increased risk of blood clots due to family history but do not have any other symptoms.

I just can't get it out of my head that it is something else. The itchiness feels particularly odd to me. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?! Thank you

I was going to say it sounds like a trapped nerve. Have you been referred to a physio or anything?

Can’t be 100% sure but it sounds like sciatica pain. I had similar pain, lower back pain and some tingling in my leg which made walking impossible some days,

I have had this in my foot since about 22 weeks (now 36). It’s feels numb, tingly to touch at times, but I can still use it. I’ve been told it’s just the weight of the baby and everything else resting on a nerve that goes to my foot and once I deliver the baby, it should go back to normal. Hope this helps!

Thank you all - that really helps! Just wanted some comfort that it wasn't just me as I'm a FTM and everything is new to me. The doctor said physio may help but to discuss further with the midwife (as she does the referrals) so it's a bit tricky as I'm sort of going between the two.

Has anyone experiencing this had physio and it's helped?

I saw a physio for sciatica in my first pregnancy, he gave me some exercises to do daily. Within a few days it was nearly gone, and previously I'd been struggling to walk up the stairs!
