When did your nausea stop?

Afternoon,

I have nausea every day and have done since the beginning of my pregnancy (it’s what made me test). I’m 8 weeks today and just wondered when can I expect roughly it to ease off.
I haven’t suffered tooooo badly like some but it is a nightmare because it’s hard to relax and get to sleep at night

Hello. I'm not much help I'm afraid. I was like you but mine started to get worse around week 9 and I'm now on week 19 and still taking antisickness drugs. However I've been on them a month and it has made life 100 times better.

I'm sorry you're feeling so horrible. If it is stopping you getting food/liquid in you then absolutely talk to your gp about it. Don't suffer in silence. By the time I sought help in week 12 I was at my absolute wits end as I thought it was normal. The charity Pregnancy Sickness Support have a helpline and were wonderful with me too.

kate909 · 02/09/2020 17:25

I had nausea until I was about 16 weeks. Felt like a really long time but I haven't had any since and I'm 35 weeks now 😊

Chanel05 · 02/09/2020 17:28

Mine stopped at 16+2.

33muma · 02/09/2020 18:15

Mine stopped end of week 15.
Before that I was sick every day for ten weeks.

Rebecca299 · 02/09/2020 18:31

I feel ya I'm 6 weeks today and feel awful and have done since about 3 weeks. Like you it made me test. I wish I could just be sick so it would make me feel better 😭

Lilice · 02/09/2020 23:09

Around 16 weeks for me too

Pipandmum · 02/09/2020 23:10

Mine stopped after my baby was born.

lostintranslation78 · 02/09/2020 23:46

Sorry mine stopped immediately after giving birth.
I hope you’re lucky and it fades. I had 9 months of hell. Two kids was all I could manage because I was so sick. I was unlucky and had every imaginable pregnancy side effect going.
Easy births though 😬

Notverygrownup · 02/09/2020 23:51

At 12 weeks. Looks like I was lucky . . .

Worked out by then that I was much better if I avoided certain foods . . . . Couldn't even cope with anyone saying the word "sausages". The family had to come up with an alternative name for them! It's amazing how often they came up in conversation!

Margo34 · 02/09/2020 23:54

It stopped around 11 ish weeks....came back again later in 2nd trimester, comes and goes in 3rd...almost 37 weeks now.

Strap in!

Scotabroad24 · 03/09/2020 00:00

Mine lessened around week 10/11, felt brand new until I hit 25 weeks but now have the odd day I feel rubbish! Not as bad as first trimester though, Don't think I'll ever feel the same about some of my favourite foods ever again Confused

peachypetite · 03/09/2020 07:36

Week 16.

Spinksy9 · 03/09/2020 07:40

hi. So I'm 9 weeks, since 7 weeks its been awful with nausea and vomiting. They were going to hospitalise me. I went into meds instead as didnt want to go in. The past 2 days ive actually felt better, still vomiting in the morning but only once. I couldn't get any fluids/food in, kept crying and was honestly hating life. However i have found that ice lollies have majorly helped and pickled onion monster munch! I have an ice lolly for breakfast every morning as cannot stand drinking anything. Hope that helps x

bluemoon2468 · 03/09/2020 07:45

I was sick multiple times every day from 4 to 16 weeks, and was nauseous literally every waking moment during those 12 weeks. (I was medicated for the sickness from about 8 weeks onwards). Then woke up one day and it had gone. Now 36 weeks and occasionally feel a wave of nausea but am never sick. It felt like an absolute lifetime at the time, but it's starting to feel like a distant memory now - hang in there!

sarahb083 · 03/09/2020 09:48

Mine started to ease around 11 weeks and was nearly gone by 15 weeks.

Satstar · 03/09/2020 10:25

I continued to br sick every morning up to and including the day I was induced at 41 weeks

Chicken123 · 03/09/2020 17:09

Oh blimey...what a mixture of responses!
I have no vomiting, but just horrendous nausea. I find if I’m home (because I’m thinking about it), it’s worse, but when I’m out and my mind is distracted, I feel slightly better.
I just don’t know how some of you women suffered right up until birth with it! I would take extreme fatigue and the aches and pains over nausea any day, it’s just unfortunate that I am suffering with tiredness as well and find that the more tired I get the more sick I feel.
I’m managing to eat and drink and most of the time it doesn’t help, but it’s just soooo draining isn’t it! I really cannot cope with much more of this ‘feeling crappy’ shite!!

@Chicken123 I’m nearly 28 weeks now and although it’s hard in other ways - aches and pains, I will take the physical pain over that horrendous nausea any day. It’s just awful.

ShouldWeChangeTheBulb · 03/09/2020 17:24

When the babies were born. Sorry.

kim160790 · 03/09/2020 18:28

I'm 20+3 and still have nausea but on cyclizine and a lot better now. Hope yours clears up soon xx

Blabla81 · 03/09/2020 18:37

14 weeks with first and around 25 weeks with second. It didn’t start until around 8/9 weeks with both though. It was awful both times.

Chicken123 · 03/09/2020 18:39

@peachypetite
That’s how I feel. It’s just bloody awful and ruins everything! I’ve literally cried so much this evening with how crappy it’s been making me feeling all day every day! I just hope it gets better soon!

@ShouldWeChangeTheBulb
Oh god! Poor you. Another lady who suffered for the whole time! Honestly, you hero! I really hope it doesn’t come to that for me😖

@kim160790
I’m glad you’re feeling much better although it sucks that you’re having to take medication for it, at least it’s helping you!
Thank you, me too! X

@Chicken123 yep I had days where I cried with my husband that I couldn’t do it. It was like a never ending hangover. The only thing that helped me was snacking every hour so I didn’t get an empty stomach, even if it were just a cracker, and because my nausea was worse in the evening I used to go to bed really early and just sleep. I also watched a lot of box sets to take my mind off it.
