I'm sick morning, NOON, and NIGHT! Is this normal? I'm only 6.5 weeks and even have dreams of yacking 🤢 How long did yours last? And how do you know if you have HG or not?

I was sick every day for 10 weeks. Then it lessened at 14 weeks preg! Hang in there, because it's not forever. But the sickness wristbands - they're a godsend! X

MarthasGinYard · 29/08/2020 09:19

I used to think exactly the same

It's bloody awfulSad

You are very early so hopefully it will begin to settle. Many find it only occurs in first stages.

I'm not going to say how long mine lasted Op, but I think I was in a minority certainly of others I know.

There is wonderful advice if it continues on the HG thread which I believe LucindaE still OP's after all these years. Deserves a Sainthood of MN IMO. Great advice and support over there.

Congratulations Thanks

I was the same - I promise it gets better!! It’s so hard but you’ll get through it. Sea bands helped me (look on amazon) congratulations x

Wingingthis · 29/08/2020 09:20

Oh & mine lasted till 12-13 weeks both times x

grafittiartist · 29/08/2020 09:20

Yep- evenings were worse I found.
Big change at 20 weeks though.
Hope it improves for you.

Scottishflower · 29/08/2020 09:23

I'm so sorry your feeling so rubbish, I was the exact same and was cursing every single person I knew who didn't tell me how bad it could actually be lol. I was sick every day multiple times for about 6 weeks. I finally started to feel better around the 12-14 week mark. I'm now 16 weeks and feeling pretty normal sickness wise, only occasionally in the morning am I now sick and usually once. So much better. Sending lots of love and hope it gets better soon. X

Apricotta · 29/08/2020 09:25

For me it's morning. It does last the day but strongest when I wake up.

LoveYouHoneybear · 29/08/2020 09:53

Thank you everyone, good to know I'm not alone and there's light at the end of the tunnel. Can't imagine going through this for another 6-7 weeks but I'm just going to take it one day at a time. x

I have made a deliberate effort to call it pregnancy sickness to hopefully change perception. I was sick most of the day too.

PatMustardsBigTool · 29/08/2020 13:00

Urgh. With DD1 it lasted until 22 weeks. DD2 was every day until she arrived. Now 7 weeks with DC3 and sickness started about a week ago. Hate it. Good luck with your pregnancy, OP!

SunnySideUp2020 · 29/08/2020 13:02

I was in your place. It got a little better at 8 weeks and more on and off with mostly off days but nothing compared to the nightmare of 6 weeks!

Chanel05 · 29/08/2020 18:37

Mine lasted until I was 16+2, morning, noon and night! I literally woke up that morning and had no nausea.

wigglerose · 29/08/2020 18:56

I don't know. It is clearly a LIE. I blame the patriarchy.

gemgem1404 · 29/08/2020 19:03

I feel your pain I'm just 7 weeks and i wake up in the night to be sick and throw up all morning then the nausea is lasting all day. I've ordered some anti sickness bands too hope they work 😬🤞🏻

Dmtush · 29/08/2020 19:19

Branding. An honest description of “just fucking sickness” may put potential buyers/contributors to the gene pool off.

To lure women into pregnancy, making sure they have no idea what is about to hit them......

If it gets really bad, go to your doctor. I didn’t with my first, and it actually never went away and I really struggled to gain weight. This time round, I went to the doctor when it was still really bad at 14 weeks. Fortunately, this time it eased off by 22 weeks and is now almost entirely gone at 26 weeks. Your baby gets what it needs from you even if you are really, really sick, but it can be utterly exhausting, so don’t feel bad if you need to get help to get through it.
