Hi guys, just needed a little insight. Are hospitals allowing partners to attend the 12 week dating scan? It's my first pregnancy and I can't imagine my partner not being able to be a part of this! 😑

They all vary by trust, but most of them are not 🙁 you'll be best off ringing your hospital to ask what their rules are at the moment x

Oh no...:( that's such a let down. Are they not even planning to open up as before? Surely they won't be going on like this forever. Do you know if private clinics allow partners to join? Thanks for the help xxx

Hi - firstly congratulations. It's my first too and I had the same questions. I just asked everyone up front whether partners are allowed.
I am in Edinburgh and they will allow my husband to my 12wk scan but we both need to wear masks and carry out the (now) normal precautions.
We have a private scan before that though and where we are they are also allowing partners.

Congratulations🥳🥳 I've just checked the hospitals website. They are allowing partners to join for the scans now from the 1st September!!!! Woohoo

It definitely varies by region. Our trust has allowed one other person in with you since July, but the neighbouring one still isn't.

Private scan places you can take a partner, I'm in an area where it's local lockdown and my DH came with me to that. We wore masks and sanitised hands on entry.

No idea about NHS, but I would say, don't expect your NHS scan to be anything more than cursory and clinical. It can come across as quite a cold experience.
