Hi, I’m around 4 and a half weeks pregnant. Baby no. 3. Struggling right now with nausea, from the moment I wake up till I go to bed. Anyone have any tips?

@Queenbee95 ahh sorry to hear it! I had exactly the same and it went away eventually at 16+2. Nausea all day every day! I found it helped me to drink through a straw and just eat little bits when I could, never get too hungry. But in all honestly, it didn't make a huge difference!

Queenbee95 · 27/08/2020 10:02

I had it with my first for 10 weeks, second was the whole way through.
It’s 100x worse this time round though 😒 really struggling to eat much at the moment

The anti sickness wrist bands have been a godsend. I was sick most days for about 10 weeks, but the bands provided me with a few good hours a day.
Have Nice biscuits or mini cheddars by your bedside, and the second you wake up in the morning eat one. Good luck, I promise there is light at the end of the sicky tunnel!

I was the same OP, baby number 3. Eventually I had to go and get medication from the doctor. I could hardly function, and that's not an option in my job. Took me 3 different kids and eventually a combination of 2 different types to ease the nausea. I piled on the weight in the first few weeks because eating was the only other thing that made feel a bit better, but then eventually made me feel worse.
Don't suffer through it. Good luck.

I had the same up until 16 weeks, I had to keep eating little and often otherwise the feeling got even worse. I managed dry biscuits like rich tea and plain crisps but other then that I had something if I fancied it and just went with it.
Jelly also helped and sips of water.
It’s horrible but it will pass.
Eventually I was prescribed anti sickness tablets at it was impossible to do anything without feeling terrible.
Worth a chat with your gp if this is something you’d consider?

I also had bad nausea with my first 2, and this has been the worst so far. I'm groggy all the time too. And already have terrible back pain.
Out of curiosity what sexes are the children you have?

Queenbee95 · 27/08/2020 10:14

Gp is giving me cyclazine. It made me feel horrible in my last pregnancy, only took it for a week. But I was also on other meds at that time which could have reacted.
Hopefully they work this time around.

@Iminaglasscaseofemotion I have two boys already

No tips to offer but I'm in the same position. Nausea from the minute I wake up until I go to bed. Second pregnancy. Didn't have this with my ds - such an easy pregnancy with him. Blah! Finding it hard work.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 27/08/2020 11:25

@Queenbee95 I also have 2 boys, this one is a girl. I'm know it's not scientific fact or anything, but people keep telling me it's because it's a girl 😂 wonder what you are having.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 27/08/2020 11:26

There are plenty of other medications if the Cyclizine doesn't work. It didn't for me. Just keep going back.

I had it really badly with DC2 - to the point where I was struggling to make myself eat or drink anything. I rang the GP for meds when I got so weak I was struggling to get out of bed.

With DC3, when I felt it start I ate. Mostly dry crackers & carrot sticks, I think. Don't think I ate proper meals for most of the pregnancy, I just snacked constantly! It did seem to stave it off though.

Queenbee95 · 27/08/2020 14:08

@Iminaglasscaseofemotion hmm I wonder, my OH would love a girl but I’m not fussed either way.

Bit gutting that it’s started so early on this time, hoping it goes soon

Was the same here. With my OH, but I wasn't fussed.
Mine eased off about 16 weeks. Not much consolation right now because that will seem so far away, but hopefully yours gets better sooner.

sqirrelfriends · 27/08/2020 16:11

What really helped me was eating something and having a small drink before I got up in the morning.

I hope you feel better soon Thanks
