Those expecting twins or higher risk pregnancies in general, when did you start to buy things? Or did you just make sure the places you purchase things from have a good returns policy?
I appreciate this might sound a little odd as you should be positive but it's just niggling in my head. We already have half the stuff we need due to having an 18 month old boy already (expecting twin boys) but just the additional car seat/isofix base/double buggy etc. I'm 22 weeks today and although one side of me is thinking still so long to go, 14 weeks is going to fly by and I'll need to be prepared a few weeks before hand incase of spontaneous prematurity rather than the planned 36/37 week delivery x

I wasn't at risk of premature birth but my dad was a premie so I wanted to be prepared. I started researching what prams and stuff I wanted to buy. I found a pram I wanted around 30 weeks and bought the car seat around the same time. We were able to store both in the garage. The early research allowed us to factor in the delivery times and we could keep an eye on whether the items get put on offer (this triggered the purchase of the car seat). You could also factor in the returns policy.

If you know you what you want to buy and where from (plus a back up) and you know you won't have a long wait for delivery you might still have time to buy them once you have had your babies.

Summary... Research now, buy when you feel ready to press ahead/or need to buy.
