Pregnant after ectopic

Hi all, I had an ectopic back in February and had to have my left fallopian tube removed. I was convinced that it was going to take forever for it to happen again - if at all. But last week had a positive result!

In Feb I had no nausea at all, this time it has really hit me this week so hoping this is a good sign, but I have a scan booked for Wednesday to hopefully make sure everything is where it should be, but I am so nervous/anxious.
This is my 4th pregnany (1st was a preemie who we lost, 2nd is a lively 8 year old) and now I feel like this is probably going to be my last chance. Do we have any success stories from people in a similar situation?

Congrats OP!

I had an ectopic back in Nov 2015 which burst and led to surgery to remove my left tube. I also have PCOS so the chances were less than slim to none. In October 2016 I had an early miscarriage and at that point gave up because it was too much.

Anyway, fast forward to 2017 and I get a positive test (felt so sick and tired and like my boobs were going to explode) which led to a successful pregnancy - apart from gestational diabetes - and a beautiful girl born Jan 2018.

I also have an older child of 10, so a 7.5yr age gap which is nice 80% of the time and they fight like cat and dog the rest of the time Grin

I hope your pregnancy goes well, congrats again Thanks

I had an ectopic in June 2018, tubal rupture, tube removed, and have a DS born 10.5 months later who is totally fine! Bit anxiety ridden and had lots of early pregnancy scans but after 11weeks was plain sailing.

Ah thank you both for the replies. Nice to know I'm not the only one!
Fingers crossed for a good outcome on wednesday. But I shall still be packing a hospital bag just in case!

Yes, I had an ectopic pregnancy and lost a tube back in 2014. I fell pregnant in 2017 (I wasn't trying in between, the ectopic had been accidental pregnancy) and my son is here, aged 3 now.

I was very nervous too, ectopic pregnancies are horrible!

Good luck with your pregnancy and congratulations

Hi
I had ectopic last year, left tube removed :( now pregnant again 22 weeks. Yes, sickness is a good sign that your hormones are going up and things are progressing

@AlbertCookie hello, I am checking in to see how your scan went? X

AlbertCookie · 14/09/2020 13:21

Hi aww thank you for asking!
The early scan was fine thank you, baby in place and heartbeat visible too. So very relieved.
1 hospital stay so far due to Hyperemesis so still hoping that my strong symptoms mean it's growing away nicely in there!
I'm somewhere between 8 and 9 weeks now so have my 12 week scan in a couple of weeks.

I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant after an ruptured ectopic and tube removal in Nov 2019! It’s nerve wracking when you first find out you are pregnant after but great news your early scan went well! I found that I didn’t really have many pregnancy symptoms with my ectopic compared this this pregnancy when I started to feel different very very quickly - in fact I didn’t know I was pregnant with the ectopic and it only became apparent when I suddenly started bleeding and I took a test As part of investigation- It’s a horrible experience but this thread shows there is lots of hope!
Best of luck with your new pregnancy.

AlbertCookie · 14/09/2020 16:57

@Fellmonster5 I was the same - no symptoms as such with the ectopic only a missed period.

Definitely different this time!

There is definitely hope....I had resigned myself to thinking it would take forever (if at all) to get pregnant again, and it happened in just 5 months!!
