I am FTM and have no clue what sort of baby bath to buy. There are so many types and brands. Any recommendations?

I've used the Angelcare bath supports for both of my two. Saved my buying a separate bath!

Just get a cheap standard bath that you could pick up from a super market. They're only in them for a few months.

My sister had the Shnuggle bath for her baby and it was brilliant so I'm going to have the same for mine 😊

Footlooseandfancy · 20/08/2020 22:27

Shnuggle bath is brilliant.

I recently bought the Stokke Flexi Bath but haven’t tried it yet.

We just either took them in with us, or ran a two inch deep warm bath and let them splash lying on their backs.

Get Supabath, it's a wide shallow one that sits over the top of your own bath! No mess and saves your back!!!! 🙌

I have a karibu folding baby bath; we still use it now and DS has just turned 2!

minnieok · 20/08/2020 22:44

Use the sink, saves your back!

Babyvibe · 20/08/2020 22:58

I have the skip hop moby (think that's what it's called). It has the sling to lay them in, feels very safe and now DS is 5 months we've moved on to the next stage of it which still has back support put clips to the bottom of the bath so he can sit up. Definitely recommend.

A bath's a bath - just get a cheap one. Ours is an Ikea one, think it was a fiver.

There's various seats you can get to put them in the big bath but I just think that must do your back in meaning over to wash them, plus you need more water. Some people use the sink but id worry if they slipped and hit their head that it's a lot harder than a plastic bath.

CherryPavlova · 20/08/2020 23:03

We never had a baby bath. Either they were swilled under a tap to remove waste, they came in with me or their siblings, they were dipped in the sink or they used a plastic storage box, if we were away.
Never understood need to spend money on a special plastic tub.

futuredreams · 20/08/2020 23:22

Shnuggle all the way

titnomatani · 20/08/2020 23:40

100% the shnuggle. Two years on and I still use mine to bathe my second, as a laundry 'basket', as a tub to soak baby's bibs, vests, etc. I also bought the stand which was invaluable in the early days post-CS but useless after that!

Angelik · 21/08/2020 00:13

Waste of money! I bought what I can only describe as Terry towelling stretched over ski slopes frame - used for maybe 8 weeks. Like a mini bouncy chair. Baby laid in it with water as deep as we liked. Think was a tenner. Also enabled toddler to share bath until baby would code Brown

DJBebe · 22/08/2020 08:40

thank you all, i appreciate it. 😊 x

I got a generic baby bath for my first but with my second I had a shuggle bath and it was amazing. I bought second hand and sold it on after I used it so it only cost me £2

brainstories568 · 22/08/2020 09:02

We also had a snuggle bath - you can pick them up for a couple of quid second hand. We put it on the toilet seat initially to save our backs then had it in the bath, although that was mainly because he had love of splashing everywhere and we got soaked. He was in it until he turned one, he's now in the main bath which is far more costly due to it needing more water etc.
