I'm 23 weeks and at the start of my pregnancy I was walking a few miles every few days, making sure I ate reasonably healthy etc...

Wellllll it didn't last very long and I became lazy and eating everything in sight, I work from home so boredom = food!

After needing a GD test, I've decided I need to start being more strict and healthier throughout my pregnancy, so I've decided to start walking again & track my calories (obviously NOT to lose weight, just to give an insight into what I'm actually eating and know when I'm overeating/bingeing!)
.. I was eating 6 or 7 chocolate hobnobs for breakfast each day with my cuppa Blush

My question is, is it too little too late and have I sealed my fate already or am I making the right decision by starting to be healthier now?!

I think a lot of us use the "oh well I'm pregnant" excuse and I've started to become very self aware of that!!

Any YouTube videos/pregnancy exercises/tips/experience would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Grin

Morning!
I was exactly the same as you. I've been using this pregnancy weight gain calculator www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html and was at the upper limits for each week according to my pre pregnancy weight 😱

About 2 weeks ago (week 27 of pregnancy) I decided to use my fitness pal, as you say absolutely not to lose weight, but to keep a tally of what I was actually eating and to see where I could cut back a little. My weight has stayed the same for the last 2 weeks and I am now in the middle of the weight gain range so feeling v.happy about that!

Mmmm chocolate HobNobs...

You're right to look at what you're eating and make healthy choices though I agree it's not easy. I'm trying to eat smaller meals but more often as I'm finding I'm hungry all the time at the moment. Walking is great as is swimming if you've got a pool reopening soon, I've been doing Sarah Beth antenatal yoga workouts too which have helped my achey back.

@Sairafina glad it isn't just me! Never used that website before that's very helpful thank you! Glad you've managed to maintain for the last few weeks, better late than never I suppose, nice to hear someone going through the same thing. Thank you!

@Footlooseandfancy yeah mine is definitely portion orientated too, cook a lasagna so I have leftovers to freeze and suddenly there's not much left 🤣

I have heard swimming is super good! I'll have a look at my local leisure centres and invest in a maternity cozzy Smile thank you!

The Dr told me she doesn't care what I put on as I'm the one who has to get it off again 😂
