TMI... Greenish discharge in early pregnancy

Hi, I'm exactly 9 weeks today and its my second pregnancy. Have noticed about 3 or 4 times in the last few weeks when I go to bathroom and wipe there is some greenish discharge. It's thick and jelly like, just like the EWCM I get around ovulation but difference being its definitely green tinged.

I remember this happening in my first pregnancy but not as frequently. I think it only happened once or twice and tbh I didn't panic as much as I am this time round. I can only call the GP in the morning to be added to the call back list so will be doing that but in the meantime would appreciate if anyone has experienced anything similar?

Sorry that last bit doesn't sound right, would appreciate if anyone has experienced anything similar and can share their stories*

Thanks a lot.

Yep, I’ve had it in two pregnancies. Been swabbed twice in this one. No infection. Just one of those pregnancy things! 20 weeks now and still green!
The best way I find to describe it, is it looks like snot 😂

Thanks for your reply @Milkshake54!

Yep exactly just like snot, you're right!! Confused

Glad to hear everything was clear.

I get this, too.. I'm now 16 weeks and it's still going on!

Exactly like snot 😆

Hi, sorry for being away, wanted to update after speaking to GP today.
He said the things to watch out for are bleeding, cramps, pain, itchiness down below, if the discharge smells foul etc. As I answered no he said just to keep an eye out and if I notice any changes to call back again.

Thanks @EntropyReversed and @Milkshake54 for your replies!

I've had this a few times over the last couple of weeks (a lot like the green stuff you blow onto a tissue when you've had a bad cold-sorry!). I phoned the midwife a couple of days ago and she said it's normally nothing but to phone my surgery and get the practice nurse to do a swab.
Phoned the GP and he said likely normal pregnancy changes if no other symptoms but left me a swab at the desk to do myself, just awaiting results now. He said if anything did come back then I'd need antibiotics 💁

Elopelo · 24/08/2020 10:38

Hi @viixie hope everything goes well with your results. Looks like a lot of us are in a similar situation. It's unnerving seeing that on the tissue paper isn't it?

Just thought I'd check in to see how you're all doing? Has anyone had an itchy down below area? Sorry once again tmi but I'm really struggling with this past couple of days and its especially worse in the night! Its all sore and burny and itchy! Last night I had to sleep with a wet towel between my legs!

Going to call GP tomorrow to see if its thrush or something else.

@Elopelo if you haven’t already contact the GP/midwife and get it checked out it could be an infection that needs antibiotics and equally could just be normal but in pregnancy always best to get checked out

Elopelo · 01/09/2020 22:26

Thank you @theresaplaceforus

I'm yet to have my first appointment with midwife, that will be later this week. But will definitely be telling them about it too. It's so uncomfortable, I was in tears last night Sad

@Elopelo i had greenish yellowish discharge at 9 weeks at the weekend and went to get checked out in hospital (i am on holidays).
They take this very seriously especially if you have itching and burning.
Don't wait for a gp appointment. Get checked out asap at a clinic or emergency center as it might be an infection.
Better to know sooner rather than later.
Good luck x
