First of all congratulations!

Poor you, It sounds like you're suffering quite badly with morning sickness.

Remedies I tried that helped a little are ginger (ginger biscuits, crystallized ginger, ginger tea), drinking flat coke and eating a bread stick or cracker before getting up in the morning.

Even so, it didn't really help much and I ended up getting anti-sickness medication after an overnight stay at the hospital with dehydration.

I'd say that if it's affecting your ability to keep food down at all and your everyday life, contact your GP and ask for some anti-sickness medication. It is safe for baby and definitely saved me from what I thought was going to be an awful first trimester.

Best of luck to you!

Congratulations and sympathies all in one! I feel your pain - I've been horrndously sick since 5 weeks and now at 12 weeks I'm so over it Hmm

Gingerbread men helped me at first but as the sickness processed they became the work of the devil himself.

I have a buttered ryvita before I even move from bed in a morning to make sure there's something on my stomach.

Salt and vinegar chipsticks are amazing - they take away the horrible wet feeling in your mouth that makes you want to puke even more!

Clementines have been good when I haven't wanted solid food as I could just suck the juice out.

Lemonade or full fat coke saved my life so many times at work, the sugar definitely helps when you're running on empty.

Other than that, I've found plain pasta and tuna mayo to be one of the only "meals" I can keep down on a bad day.

My sickness is now dwindling down to a day or two a week instead of every day, so it does get better. Just have whatever you want while you feel grim - I've lost 7lbs being so sick and my midwife is insistent I need fattening up ASAP Grin xxx

Medication. Go to the doctor. I had no idea until my third pregnancy you could get medication for it and ladt time midwifes let me suffer through for the whole pregnancy, telling me to try sports drinks and suck on sour sweets πŸ™„. Absolute bullshit. My mental health plummeted during pregnancy and didn't get any better after the birth.
Don't suffer through it. Go to a doctor and push for medication. Tell them you can't keep food and liquids down. The 2 doctors I saw were absolutely brilliant. I had never thought to go to the doctor with my last 2 pregnancies, and didn't have MN for advice/ support then.

I'm 10 weeks and have suffered a lot with morning sickness and nausea. I got given medication from my dr but I cant keep it down (my stomach is RIDICULOUSLY sensitive and I seem to gag at everything atm), i got so bad i ended up going to the EPU at hospital and they gave me an injection. I took a few leaflets about pregnancy sickness and some tips i got were ...
*when you wake up in the morning, before you even have a drink, eat something dry, then after a while take some sips of juice
*eat whatever you feel ok to eat. At the moment it doesn't particularly matter if it's not all fruit and veg because you wont be able to keep it down anyway, so whatever food you can keep down, eat that
*definitely see a medical professional for some help
*eat little and often. I've found that I need to eat every 2 hours otherwise I immediately get sick, I take a pack of belvita breakfast biscuits around with me wherever I go
*fizzy drinks are good for feeling sick
*if smells and meals make you queasy, try just eating cold plain food like sandwiches

Hope it eases for you soon x

I’m in a similar boat but hoping I’m making some progress now with what works for me.
I’m 7 weeks 4 days and have had sickness/nausea for nearly 2 weeks.
I’ve been recommended lots of the above so am trying things like ginger biscuits etc but...
The main thing that seems to be starting to help me is trying to eat a decent evening meal followed by a filling snack before bed eg banana, peanut butter on toast. Then I usually wake around 3/4am hungry and have fruit and oaty biscuits on my bedside table ready to snack on, then try and sleep again, then snack some more when I wake again before getting up. So far when I’ve managed this I haven’t been sick and generally am much better, just a bit nauseous.

I also have been eating babybels and drinking milk, and even tried powered milk meal replacements as a snack as it’s filling. It’s definitely linked to hunger for me. And I’m not usually a big eater at all. I’ve never snacked so much in my life!
Hope you improve! I’m a teacher so praying I’m okay for sept.

Sorry you’re feeling so rough @paigeleeforever182 πŸ˜“ hopefully this sicky stage won’t last too long for you!! It’s definitely different for everyone when it comes to easing the sickness.

I found myself feeling sickest when I got hungry or when I ate a meal so I pretty much gave up on actual meals and just grazed on little bits throughout the day. I did try and keep it healthy where I could but like about 90% of the replies I’m sure you’ll get, it’s definitely not always easy to do that πŸ˜‚ Salted ritz crackers, salted crisps, cold apples and raw carrots were all able to be kept down. And ice lollies/Ice poles were a lifesaver 😍 they would take the nausea away while I ate them and would take a forever to eat πŸ˜‚
