Type 2 diabetic & pregnant - HELP!

Any other T2 mamas out there? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of info online as most gets jumbled in with gestational diabetes info. Would love to hear about your experiences - especially how you controlled fasting sugars and what your overall pregnancy was like. Did your baby cope well with high sugars at the star of pregnancy?

A bit about me - was diagnosed with T2 in jan ‘20 - had a hba1c of 72 at the time! It went down to 47 at conception (I’m 6 wks pregnant!). Have worked very hard to control my diabetes - the diabetic midwife seems really pleased with my efforts but levels are so tight at pregnancy. My average fasting levels are between 5.1 - 5.7 (on 4 units of insulatard) so still a little above the 5.3 and under target. Feeling really anxious and depleted over it! All my other post meal recordings are great. It’s been kind of hammered into me that my baby is at risk with these kinds of fasting numbers.

Any advice/reassurance greatly appreciated!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy type 2 mama to be here ,Currently 15+3 when i got diagnosed last year my hba1c was 89 as of july it went down to 41and i had lost 10 kilos but my after breakfast numbers are crazy stuck in the 9s at the moment got 6 today ,but my before breakfast, after lunch and after dinner are all under target so I've started insulin and having 4 metformina day ,I've also had my 12 week scan and my hcg is high at 5 MOM and papp-a 0.58 nt 2.1 which put baby at an increased risk of 1:74 for down syndrome and I'm wondering if my high hcg has to do with my diabetes since it is a hormone disorder .sorry for going on a tangent but I'm really worried about baby as it's our first baby and I'm due late jan/feb due to being induced between 37-38 weeks by then i would be 30 .
