Should I see dental hygienist while pregnant - coronavirus risk?

Hi, any advice would be helpful on this. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and can get a hygienist appointment for when I'm 37 weeks pregnant. Whilst being pregnant I experienced bleeding gums so used chlorexidine mouthwash and it caused some brown stains on my teeth. You can't see them when I smile so it's not for cosmetic reasons I want them removed but I believe it's tartar which could cause problems with my teeth if I don't have it removed and the only way for it to be removed fully is through a scale and polish appointment.

I read that hygienist appointments are more risky as they use aerosol equipment. My regular dentist isn't doing hygienist appointments because of the risk but I have found another private dentist who will.

Is the risk of my teeth damaging because of this minimal and should I wait till I've had the baby or is it important I get this sorted as soon as possible? I have been taking extra care of my teeth while pregnant to keep them clean

My private hygienist only does manual cleaning now they give you a 45 minute appointment.

@Happydaysforever123 is that the same as a scale and polish?

Yes it is the same as a scale and polish, they've done it to reduce risk.

Ok thank you!

I had my teeth cleaned a month ago. Hand scaling was done. Absolutely fine. Temperature checks before allowed to enter. I felt safer there than I do in supermarkets. I'm 38 weeks.
