Rib pain

I am almost 24 weeks pregnant with DC3. During previous pregnancies I suffered some rib pain in later stages due to baby kicking, however with this pregnancy I have had rib pain / pressure since 9 weeks.
There seems to be a constant feeling of fullness under my right ribs & when I bend over it feels like something is stuck or digging into me. On particularly bad days it feels like something is hooking into me pretty much all day.
I have spoken to the midwife and the doctor about this and they’ve all said it’s normal, ligaments stretching or perhaps intercostal muscle strain. I was sent to hospital just in case it was gallstone related but the abdominal ultrasound was clear. I spoke to the doctor about pain relief but he said paracetamol is the only thing I can take but that rest would be the best thing. I am trying to rest as much as possible but DS & DD don’t make it easy!
Today I can feel spasms or twitching of the muscles in the rib area underneath my right breast. It’s not painful but it’s a very disconcerting feeling!
I’ve tried heating and cooling pads and stretches but to no avail! I feel like this is driving me crazy!!
I have booked an appointment with an osteopath for next week as I also suffer from SPD. Fingers crossed they will be some help. In the meantime
I wondered if anyone else had this and had stumbled upon a magic remedy?!!

Hi OP. I had a very similar feeling to you and my baby turned out to be breech. So I think her head was stuck up beneath my ribs! There wasn't much I could do about it unfortunately. If that is the case for you though, your baby might turn!
Pain at the top of your abdomen, under the ribs is occasionally a sign of pre-eclampsia, so always get things checked out. It sounds like you have though, so it's good that they are not concerned.

And when I said 'a similar feeling', I actually meant exactly the same as you described! It was worse sitting down. Better standing up or lying down x

Yes definitely better when lying down - it does seem to be my default position whenever I can get away with it!
Both DC before were breach until quite late when they turned, but I wouldn’t have expected to feel so bad so early on. Every pregnancy is different I guess. This is definitely my last...!
