Alarmed by weight gain

I’m 22 weeks and I’ve gained over 3 stone. This is a bit much, isn’t it?

Is it possible to safely bring it down? I have been eating better and moving a lot more than I was.

OP, you are doing all the right things now. Try to enjoy your pregnancy - some women do gain more than others, it happens. I hope you are ok x

Steer clear of the brie! These sort of soft cheeses could contain listeria

Unless of course you bake it in the oven until it's delicious and melty 😋

If you're trying to be sensible now and exercise a bit and perhaps bring it up at your next midwife appt I wouldn't worry too much. I'm normally 9st at 5ft6 but put on over 3stone last pregnancy - lost it all and more without trying in the first couple of months after having the baby. I'm pregnant again and in my first trimester I put on a stone. Pregnancy makes me incredibly hungry early on - I really believe that's just the way my body is. I didn't have any momentous weight gain in the third trimester, it was pretty steady. I'm eating well and exercising daily as well as looking after a toddler, if I'd only put on the few pounds some PPs have mentioned I'd have been actively denying myself food when very hungry.

I've put on almost 3 stone and am 32 weeks, mine has gone on at a steady rate of 2-3 pounds a week. I was only 7st before I got pregnant. My midwife didn't seem too worried really, I started off almost underweight so some of it is just eating better than I did pre pregnancy and looking after myself more. I do think to an extent it can depend on how much you weighed initially. I eat reasonably healthily and have been tested and don't have GD. Midwife said there isn't anything they can do about it anyway, you can hardly go on a diet at the moment!

It's a lot unless you were underweight before

I was starving early on!

I googled and it said Brie was fine.
