Period Cramping pains coming and going 38 weeks

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anybody else experienced the above which then progressed to labour?

This is our third baby, I was induced with our first. With our 2nd I had period cramping and my bloody show before contractions then DS2 was born the next morning at 40+4.

I will be 38 weeks tomorrow but the last couple of days I’ve had period type pains in and off, more so today.

I have them along with back pain for a few hours and then they go for an hour or 2 then come back, so there isn’t any kind of pattern.

I’m also getting a lot of pressure in my pelvis like I need to go to the toilet (but don’t go) but am actually going for a wee a lot more.

Not due until 22nd.

Thanks :)

My period like pains have been continuing, quite mild though and only at night. But my back ache has ramped up, I’m feeling more pressure down low when I walk (around my bum too), and I think I lost part of my mucus plug today. After loads of googling, I’ve worked out this means I could either go into labour in a matter of hours, days, or weeks 😂 not so helpful. I’m 38+2 - due on the 21st

@Melbs6 so....how did it go? 🤣 I had my baby girl 5 days after I last posted as I saw the midwife the following day and ended up getting induced 2 weeks early as my girl was tiny! She was born 5lbs 3oz on 14/08!

BabyB19 · 11/11/2020 17:37

@Mumma4262 how about you?

Melbs6 · 14/11/2020 08:54

Congratulations @BabyB19! Labour was nowhere near imminent for me - I went to 40+12 and ended up being induced. All that agonising over every little symptom 😂 it turned out it meant nothing. Baby wasn’t even near close to arriving naturally when I went in for my induction. But he’s here now, 10 weeks old and currently napping on my chest 💙

BabyB19 · 14/11/2020 09:16

Aww congratulations @Melbs6 Hope all went well. Mine was an absolute nightmare but my little one is 3 months old today. No more napping on my chest she wants to stand on my knee all day long 🤣💖👶🏽

Oh my goodness @BabyB19 she’s absolutely gorgeous 😍 so tiny in the newborn picture! My baby boy was 8lb 12oz so absolutely massive compared to your baby girl. And yeah, the induction was horrific if I’m honest, but it’s true when they say you forget all the pain because I’d do it all over again now

BabyB19 · 15/11/2020 11:26

It's so true isn't it @Melbs6 I ended up in theatre and everything everything that could go wrong did go wrong and I still look back at it as the most incredible experience of my life 🤣 planning a second just as soon as I am healed enough to be able to have sex again 🤣🤷🏽‍♀️

Melbs6 · 16/11/2020 13:35

😂😂 wow @BabyB19 that’s brave!! I’ve always wanted to have babies close in age to each other but I’m definitely not ready for another one yet! Good for you though! They’ll be so close

Hi,
New on here but been my life saver the past few weeks,
I am currently 35+3 and all day yesterday and last night I was getting what I thought was craps and my belly tightening but woke up this morning with them hardly there. I can feel that she has moved down though as my belly is feeling extremely heavy and pressure down below.
This is my 3rd but had sections with my 2 eldest so don’t no what to expect for the lead up to labour.
Thank you
