Reduce movements

Hi everyone,
I'm 34w and wondering about reduce movements. My baby doesn't really have a pattern and last week I barely felt him moving. I head to the hospital and as soon I sat on the waiting room he moved so much and also during exam. This is the second time that happens. The nurse was kind but I felt she and the doctor were upset as he was moving a lot.
Again today I barely felt him move, only poking him he replies, thought to call the midwife but I'm afraid is going to be the same as last week or they will think I'm over reacting

Hey @Nokita currently 36+4 being kept awake by a very wriggly baby. Seriously do not even worry yourself with what you think people may or may not think. If for ANY reason you think you have reduced movements call your hospital and go get checked out. I would rather feel silly but reassured than the alternative x

I agree, @Nokita. If you are concerned at all please call them and go in. It's better to be safe then sorry. I'm guessing 9 times out of 10 the baby will be being awkward and be in a position you cant feel/notice as much, but it's always best to check it out. The mw and drs should always be fine about seeing you x

Definitely go in, they really won't mind. I went in about a dozen times during my pregnancy they always encouraged me to come back if I felt anything was array. Go in!

FourPlasticRings · 07/08/2020 05:48

I doubt they were annoyed. The monitor always seemed to wake my eldest up!

I agree with others and would definitely make a call/go in. That's what they're there for and it's always better to get checked out.

MizMoonshine · 07/08/2020 07:11

They would much rather monitor you for 15 mins than have something happen to your baby. ALWAYS call.

I can't keep track of the movements but I have noticed she is always awake around 9pm when I go to bed and when I wake up so I use those 2 points of the day to watch for movements. Yesterday her movements weren't as strong and it really started to unerve me but by the afternoon they were strong again. Such a worry this last bit

Let them think what they want! Although I doubt they were upset. Every midwife I’ve ever seen has always said they’d rather see people 100 times and send them home saying everything is fine, than miss the 1 time the baby needed to be seen.

Go in.

Number3or4 · 07/08/2020 08:46

The doctor and the midwife were probably upset by something else. Not because of someone (you) were following nhs guidelines. You did the right thing last time. Going in again means you are following guidelines.

I went in on Tuesday and they told me they would rather see us everyday and everything be ok, then us not go in.

So please call them if you get worried. I've been in at least three times so far! This last part Is so tough when it comes to movements! Zz

I called the midwife today and went to see her. The heart was good and position but she sent me to the hospital just to check. I think this baby loves the hospital, as per nurse words: he’s such a happy baby.
They advise me to drink sugary drinks or chocolate (what I cannot because I have gd).
I start to believe that he’s just bored of being home only with me and needs interactions.

Please don’t worry about overreacting. They would rather see you 20 times and everything be fine that you not go just once and there be a problem.
