Morning everyone

Over the last couple of days, i've hardly had any kicks at all from baby. I've felt the odd bit of squirming now and then but nowhere near as much as i used to.

I know that LO was breech and her body was to my right hand side, but now she's gone to the left hand side and ever since then, she's gone very quiet. I dont know if she's still breech or whether it should make a difference. I'm so used to getting whacked in the fanjo 1,000 times a day that the lack of kicks is a little worrying.

I have a MW appointment tomorrow but thought i'd ask for some feedback from you guys first.

I'm 32 weeks today.

TIA!

Hi there

If you feel that the movements are significantly less I would telephone your MW today and ask for a scan for reassurance.

Better to be on the safe side, plus you will get another opportunity to see your little one!

Hi,
I would go and see the gp or midwife today, they can listen to babys heartbeat and give you some reassurance.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 02/10/2007 12:05

Please see a GP or MW today, you'd only spend the day worrying until tomorrow.

I was told to count the movements. As a rough guide: if 10 or over by 2pm, all fine, stop counting. If not reached 10 by 5pm go in to the hospital.

Something else: try and sit down and count. I was surprised how many I could feel once I was just sitting on the sofa doing nothing else.

Think i have felt about 3 or 4 movements today so far. My job's not active - i sit on my bum all day surfing the net.

I will keep an eye on any movements i do feel tho and write them down.

I was just about to post about the same thing! Sprog has been very very active for the last few weeks, and since the weekend has definitely been much quieter. It was in an oblique position last time I saw the doc, and I think it's moved, but can't believe the change in movements.

He/she seems alright, I've had a few jabs, but nothing like what i was getting last week.

33 weeks tomorrow.

Should I be worried?

kekouan · 02/10/2007 12:35

also sit on my bum all day surfing the net :-p

Pheebe · 02/10/2007 12:44

I've had exactly the same. Loads of kicks up til last Friday then he's gone really quiet ever since...literally overnight. I'm 36+4 now and have been down the the FMAU twice to be monitored, both times they've said he's fine and have no explanation for the sudden overnight change other than 'some babies slow down towards the end of pg'.

RGPargy · 02/10/2007 13:09

Well i'm so glad it's not just my LO that's decided to take a leaf from mum's book and do sod all!!

I've been monitoring movements since my last post and i have felt 10 already, although they are nowhere near as strong as they were a couple of days ago. Maybe she has turned around and is facing inwards so i cant feel it now or summat.

I will see what the MW says tomorrow morning i think.

Odd tho, isn't it.

When I panicked about this (and we all do) I used to either eat a load of ice cream or a big glass of ice ice cold water. The cold woke baby up pretty quickly

RGPargy · 02/10/2007 13:14

bobsmum - i always drink cold water during the day but just HAD to have a bar of chocolate and a fizzy drink to try and wake baby up.

Eating pizza always gets mine moving.

Must try that tonight.

sarahloumadam · 02/10/2007 18:18

Hi RG

Has your LO woken up yet? I had a very quiet couple of days Sat/Sun and the movements were quite weak and faint compared to what I have come to expect (solid kicks in the ribs that make me go "ooouff"!). Anyway he woke up during my antenatal class last night and hasn't stopped since. I have no idea why this happens but every now and then he gives me a scare for a few days. Hope is similar for you and that your MW is able to reassure you tomorrow.

NAB3 · 02/10/2007 18:28

How are you doing? Def keep an eye on baby's movements.

I had this at 37 +6 and couldn't get any reponse form DS1. Had emrgency section next day. I am convinced there was more problems so are sure you will be okay.

Go with your instincts.

RGPargy · 02/10/2007 19:39

mmmmm pizza! I've got steak and chips instead - that should get her moving!

hi Sarah!

Well, i've felt a few more movements but deffo nowhere near as strong as in previous days. I do think tho it might be down to her changing position because she deffo has changed sides and she might even have turned upside down or something.

DP is away tonight so i will spend the evening on the sofa relaxing and poking my tummy to feel her movements.

Nab - sorry you had an emergency CS - how scarey! I trust everyone was fine??
