How many bottles?

I'm planning on formula feeding with MAM bottles, just wondering how many I should get to start off with and what sizes?

It depends on how often you want to be washing and sterilising bottles. You could survive on two - but it will be easier if you have 4-6 bottles.

You can buy small bottles for newborns (160ml or smaller) but you'll need to replace them with larger bottles when your baby has bigger feeds. So you could just buy standard size bottles (usually 260ml) and only partly fill them at first.

Whatever size bottle you start with just make sure it has a slow flow teat suitable for newborns.

MAM do a good starter set with four 160ml, four 260ml bottles, four slow flow teats and a dummy.

I started off with 5 for the first 3 weeks but the constant washing was driving me mad so bought 3 more.

I've bottle feed both of mine and I'll be doing the same when this one arrives. 6 worked really well last time so I've brought the same this time

Thanks for the advice! How long do they typically use the small bottles for before moving up to the bigger ones?

I've just bought their starter set from Amazon for £35, it has 2 X 160ml and 4x 260ml plus some other bits and bobs, dummy, bottle handles etc

Sorry didn't see someone else has already mentioned that! Wondering why I didn't get 4 small bottles in my set now Grin

I had 6, largely because that’s how many fitted in the steriliser but it worked well

It depends on how big/hungry your baby is so anytime between 3-6 months.
