When did your baby's movements go from 'fizzing bubbles' to noticeable kicks?

And did it take you a while to work out that was what had happened?

I'm 21+6 and haven't felt much movement in the last two days. I've had the fizzing since 19 weeks, and what might have been kicks as well for the last three days (but tbh they might have been wind, I don't have any previous experience). Should I be worried? (I can worry for England, I'm excdellent at it).

Or is the baby just very sleepy?

Hi BB

I had a similar thing around 21/22 weeks. I had started to feel small movements fairly regularly, then nothing for 3 or 4 days. I have to admit I was also quite worried, but the kicks returned. I'm now 25 weeks and lying in bed at the weekend I saw my first kick - looked like bubba was trying to break out feet first!!

This is my first too so naturally everything is new, strange and often worrying but its true that when you think about the size of our babies, they must still have plenty of room to hide for the time being!

Really interesting about the milk, I am craving it big time at the moment and had noticed that every time I have a drink there's a lot of activity! Maybe that's worth a try?

I'd say go to your MW - not because I think there's anything wrong, but just because she can listen in and you will feel so much better. I went in at around 20 weeks having felt nothing for 3 days after feeling "bubbles" from about 17 weeks. She got the heartbeat straight away and I blubbed like a big eedjit. The baby still didn't move (that I could feel) for another day, and then it started jumping again. She said that it had probably been facing, and kicking, the back. But if I hadn't gone in I would have been a wreck. They won't mind at all, in fact mine told me off for waiting so long.

many thanks to all who advised.

Caz, thanks, will contact mw if I get worried again.

Hi Bellabear - you sound much better but thought I'd add my twopennorth. I had similar thing where I got scared around 24 weeks. Midwife did come and check it out and it was fine BUT

When I told my MIL she said that with all five (yes FIVE)of her very healthy babes, she had days right up to the end when she didn't feel anything. To know that has helped me take my foot off the ppanic accelerator. Not to suggest that you were panicking but I was!
