Baby gifts being gifted

I've gone a bit crazy and have bought near enough everything I need. I suddenly thought if people want to buy us something there's nothing left to buy! Only a couple of expensive bits. Sounds silly but what can I ask for, what is useful but I wouldn't think to buy myself. Is it rude asking for things for when he's a bit older like a high chair?

No of course not, if you have the space just ask for things 6 months +, high chair, weaning accessories, older toys, clothes in bigger sizes or a contribution towards one of the bigger items you are yet to buy?

I'm in the same boat OP. I've got everything and my shower is in 4 weeks!
I've just told people to get anything they want and we will be grateful for anything extra, even if baby does end up with too much stuff.
Most people buy keepsakes and little cute things you wouldn't necessarily buy yourself.
Vouchers are always a good one too for when you need more stuff when baby gets bigger

I didn’t have a baby shower but I did have a party after baby was born for everyone to meet him . I never asked for gifts and nobody asked me what I wanted either . My friends and family know I like surprise gifts . We got tons of stuff that were useful and a lot of it was for when he was a bit older : toys , feeding/weaning stuff, clothes, books, gift cards and stuff animals . We loved everything we recieved and used it all !

I would ask for clothes that are 6 months plus and nice books if you need cheaper things that people can buy you.

Believe it or not, the holy grail of high chairs is actually a £15 one from IKEA. Cheap and cheerful and does the job perfectly well.

Just don't take the tags off items which are duplicated and then you can usually exchange them.

Books
Clothes 6 months plus (Season appropriate)
Shoe vouchers (they grow so quick they need quite a few)
Wooden train track (most played with toy here for both ds and dd) there are lots of different packs that suit different budgets

I personally wouldn't want someone else to buy me a high chair unless they would buy the one I wanted.

Most people tend to buy clothes. Usually in larger sizes, a few toys too.. At least that's been the case for us which is lucky.

Agree with so many comments. If people ask, ask for things for an older child, otherwise let them use their imagination. You'll be surprised and end up with things you didn't know you wanted. Also agree with the IKEA high chair comment. It's an excellent one. Though we had one from Argos that folded and was height adjustable as that suited our needs at the time in our tiny house.
